How embarrasing it would be should a 1-15 team in 2007 win the East

I hope we can get the job done and with a little help from the Jets to win the division but how embarrasing it would be IMO for a team like Miami that was less than 1 year removed from a 1-15 season in which they were defeated badly in many games last season to win this division only a year later.

Sure we lost Brady and many other starters and it is very understandable as to why we are fighting to survive but as a whole this division would still be embarrasing from a perspective for the worst team, not only in the AFC East but in the entire NFL Season of 2007 to be the best of the 3 other teams only a few months later.

It may be just another of those remarkable turnarounds but if its going to be the best turnaround in NFL history it would be sad to see it occur in the AFC East of all the divisions.

Lets hope we don't have to see or say "2008 AFC East Champion Miami Dolphins" when it reaches 7pm on sunday night

(I am sure Bills and Jets fans are saying the same things)

i dont think the bills really care that much

If not us better Fish than Rats. I could care less what their record was last year.

I don't think it's embarrassing. It shows a killer, competitive division unlike many others in the NFL.

If we can't make it, and they take care of themselves (control their own destiny) it'll be hard not to be impressed. If we miss the playoffs, I'll be joining my Dolphan buddy and watching them get as far as they can.

The next best thing from the Pats making the big show every year is someone from the AFCE making it tot he big game. Long shot, sure, but it shows the division is producing competitive teams. Hard to say that about divisions where 8-8 teams are clinching the division.

I don't want to see it, but it's possible the worst record in this division will be 8-8. That's pretty impressive.

Cannot agree more. Even though I cannot stand Joey Porter and all of the DB fans that come along with the fins, better them into the post season then the jest.....

I am sure Goodell loves the possibility of a Dolphin division champion which is one of the reasons why this game was moved to 4pm so it would get lots of prime time exposure and finally bury the Pats division winning streak

What the hell difference does it make what they were last year ? They are what they are this year.

I was fully intending to crack open a beer or three and watch the Patriots game, and then the Jets game sunday...

Now I just find myself so embarrassed at the thought of Miami even competing to win that I can't bring myself to do it.

This **** doesn't happen in other divisions

Really? The NFC East called, Atlanta is on top again.

The only thing I can think of that would be embarrassing is if the Patriots and Ravens lose, the Jets win, and then go on a run in the playoffs.

What's embarrassing about it? It shows how good their coaching is and shows what Chad Pennington can do in the right set-up. Kudos to them for turning it around so quickly; they drafted well, knew exactly who they wanted in free agency and got everyone else's confidence to the required levels.

If I had more posts you'd have recognized the sarcasm ;)

My bad :)

Damn. I consider myself the master of sarcasm (Box usually does well himself) and I missed that one. D'OH! :p

Back on top of the NFC East? Really? (I am soooo going to pay for that...) :disagreement:

To me, it shows that even at 1-15, they weren't that far off. Atlanta is very similar story. Nothing embarassing about it.

Teams turn around when they find that missing piece of the puzzle. I don't profess to know what it was that Miami did, but whatever it was, it worked.....

The Dolphins lost 6 games last year by 3 points are less and they were in most games until they gave up late in the year, semmingly quitting on their awful coach.

They had terrible coaching and lost many games they should have won, so talent-wise last year they were more like a 6-10 team, or so. Bad, but not really 1-15 bad.

Last year doesn't matter, so why would there be anything to be embarrassed about?

Big turnarounds from last year:

- Miami (1-15 last year)
- Atlanta (4-12 last year)
- Baltimore (5-11 last year)
- NY Jets (4-12 last year)
- even Carolina was 7-9 last year
