Ravens prefer anywhere to Foxboro

That's an awesome article! Thanks for posting. The best bit:

In those famous words of a song written by the late James Brown, "Please, Please, Please," don't bring on the Patriots.

The New York Jets would do just fine in the opening round, and so would the Miami Dolphins. But no one, absolutely no one, wants to go to Foxborough, Mass., for any playoff game, much less in the first round.

IMO teams in the NFL should least want to see us in the playoffs. We have proven that we can win in the playoffs and we are playing as good now as we have all season.

Please, Please, Please let us get in.

From a Chargers' fan POV, it would be better for the Chargers if the Patriots were to miss the playoffs, and they beat them pretty handily this year. Cassel has really matured into a leader of that offense, they're going to be tough to beat again. They are playing better than anyone right now.

I don't think our D is any scarier, though. Probably softer, and with Rivers heating up, I don't think you'd need to be worried unless we keep making "get up early and blitz" work. This week will test that theory better than the last couple.

I don't know about this, but I think it was meant to be complimentary:

Belichick already has the personality of Scrooge nine months a year, but he becomes downright diabolical in December, January and February.

i also think the colts are praying for denver win. They dont want to see SD in the playoffs.
anyways all these matchup thoughts are way too early now. We need to beat buffalo first.

Oh ye of little faith. :nono:

Wilhite for O'Neal has been an improvement. Mayo and Guyton have one whole season of experience. Meriweather has two. That D is not as shaky as it was to start the season, even with the injuries they are playing their best ball - perhaps not as sharp as in seasons past, but the youngsters are coming on strong. Phillip Rivers? Bring it!

I think this is going through every AFC playoff team and fans of those teams, but pride won't let them show it.

I am focused only the Bills because we have to win that game for any of the other scenarios to materalize. (And even if we win, we could still not make it. :( )

So, at this point in time, I am least bit bothered about any other team or their coaches or fans comments about the Pats.

A bit glad that our game is the first one because the other games wouldn't be a distraction.

GO PATS!

and..ahem...go jets, go jags...

Sunpapers poll, the fans agree, overwhelmingly, anyone but the Pats.

If the Ravens make the postseason, which of their potential opponents -- the Dolphins, Jets or Patriots -- would you prefer to face?

Thank god we can't play Indy in a dome. considering if we won the division we'd be the third seed, we're lucky the top 2 seeds are run firsts teams. That's a better matchup for our defense, IMO. This team doesn't give me confidence against Indy, Pitt, or Tenn. but I think they'll give anyone a ride and who knows. A couple positive INTs there a few fumbles there and big things could occur. I'm addicted to playoff football..

We'll see what they're made of this weekend. The Bills looked like they were in their early season form last week and this could be a good test for the Pats. I prefer to believe that our defense simply pounded their O-Line and Warner down last week despite the snow. Our pass rush was simply back and we didn't hang the secondary out to dry for the game. If they can play like that again in enemy territory then I have faith we can go up against anyone in the playoffs.

I feel exactly the same way.............first, we need to win and then get help, nothing else matters at this point.

I HATE the fact we need help, I don't like the thought of sitting there at 4:00 PM hoping inferior teams can rise up.

All of that said, the Ravens better hope they don;t come here, because it won't be pleasant for them and they know it.

if we face baltimore in new england nad matbe add some snow in we'll win for sure. the pats are what 10-0 last 10 snow games?

just heard this of nfl live. they have the pats getting the 3rd seed and the jets getting the 6th seed. i can see the pats getting in, but the ravens will most likely win against the jags.

There's a lot on the line for the Jets (players et al). I tend to imagine Miami as a better team, at least as far as steadiness goes, but the soft end of year schedule for both teams might affect how they play.

I wouldn't count on the Fish as much as the Jets if a comeback had to be made.

If I was a betting man, I'd have a hard time betting against Favre in a possible career-ender, even though I've grown to loathe the guy.

It's funny that he claims the ravens prefer anyone to us because I prefer anyone to the ravens.

Miami isn't all that talented. They are just well coached, and it showed when we were prepared to play the Phins this year.

is it me or is the reporter the one who doesn't want the pats?

do any of the ravens say "I don't want the Pats"?
