All Things Bill Belichick: 24-Dec-2008 Press Conference Transcript

some reporter felt the story of the week is BB rooting the jets . here is a funny exchange (at least according to me)

Q: You can only control your game but you will need help from the Jets, what is your reaction to that?

BB: It's out of our control. Just worry about Buffalo.

Q: But how does that make you feel knowing that you will need their help?

BB: It makes me feel the same way I feel every week. What we can control we can control and that's our performance against Buffalo and that's what we are working on. Let everybody else worry about what they have to worry about.

Q: How are you going to keep track of the game once your game is over?

BB: I don't know.

Q: Are you going to keep track of it at all?

BB: I don't know. We are just concentrating on Buffalo. We are going out there and we are going to try to play the best we can against the Bills. That is our goal and that's really all we are thinking about. Whatever else happens, happens. I'm not saying it isn't important and I am not saying that we don't care, but that is not anything that we have any influence over. We will be rooting for whatever teams can help us, but if we don't do our job none of that stuff will matter. We have to do our job first.

Q: You said you will be rooting for any teams that can help you, so the Jets?

BB: Whoever can help us, that is right.

Q: So you will be rooting for them?

BB: I am rooting for the Patriots. Whatever helps the Patriots, I'm for.

LMAO. BB probably wanted to kill whomever that reporter was. YES, IDIOT! BB is probably like most of the rest of us: rooting for the Jets from 4-7 this Sunday.

hes the best. its comical how he is such a narrow minded, focused stiff to the media. you know inside hes rooting for the jets. classic. hillarious.

i actually think the reporter might have wanted to kill himself after the failed attempt :)

because they are idiots who want to create a headline "BB rooting for the jets" which they still might make but he is mocking that knowingly.

That ther is some funny stuff I don't care who ya are.:p

LOL That is great

What a legend. BB, you're the man!

Its all those Croatian genes gentleman  :D

When will the media learn, in a battle of wits with Bill Belichick, they are unarmed.

Thing is, reporters HAVE to ask questions like that, regardless of how BB answers or doesn't answer. Otherwise, they wouldn't be doing their job.

Following the interview, BB was overheard laughing his ass of and reminding Scott Pioli what a farken idiot that writer is....he said Scott, what did they want me to say? Go Jets?? I hate the farken Jets, of course we would like to see them win, is he that much of an idiot?? Does he really think I'll let him write a piece about how BB is Jet fan for a day??

Is he really fooling anyone. I watched the Matt Cassel presser. Am I really suppose to believe he doesn't know all the playoff scenarios? If so there are only 53 people living in New England that does know the Patriot need the Jets or Jacksonville to win -- the Patriots team roster.

If I was Bill, I would've said. "No, I'm rooting for Jacksonville."

I think it would have been funny if BB's response was:

"Of course, which reminds me, I need to pick up my Gastineau jersey from the cleaners!"

He can pull of dry sarcasm really well...and this soundbite would have been played over and over around the country.

no he isnt . but how odd is it for a reporter to ask in 100 different ways the same thing "will you be rooting for the jets?" . All they wanted BB to say that was "Iam rooting for the jets" to create their news column. Isnt it obvious enough who they will root for ?

Isn't it lovely to have a Head Coach that has genuine disdain for everything green and white. Fills me with immense passion and pride knowing he dislikes the scum as much as I do.

I don't know anything about Jets or Manginis or Favres. All I know is that we are playing the Bills this weekend. :D

The video is up on the team site. It sounded like the same woman asking all those Jets questions.

Then another woman finally started asking some football questions.

could be the same person who asked bb if he was disappointed he couldnt rest his players before a big jets game after the last buffalo win. nobody cares about the game anymore. its about writing headlines.

as predicted its kelly naqi of ESPN  who reported this now on sportscenter that BB doesnt utter the jets by name no hard she asks....
what a waste of a storyline.
By the way anyone notice how less the pats ESPN coverage has become .? Seems like mostly shutout except maybe rodney and seymour who speak to ESPN fellows.
