New England Patriots (10-5) at Buffalo Bills (7-8)

Tempted to pick the Bills. Very tempted, because the winds-will-be-strong-Sunday forecast from weather.com, on my PC, comes up in bright red letters "HIGH WINDS'' for gameday -- and my new underrated combo-platter at running back is Marshawn Lynch and Fred "Drag 'Em Into The End Zone'' Jackson. Last six games: 120 rushing yards per game, 5.0 yards per carry. But this game is too important for the Patriots' D to not bring the big-boy pads.

Prediction: New England Patriots 28, Buffalo Bills 20

Miami Dolphins (10-5) at New York Jets (9-6)

Don't ask why. I don't know. I do know that Brett Favre, Alan Faneca, Nick Mangold, Thomas Jones, Tony Richardson and Kerry Rhodes are going to play every play like it's their last. Corny. Also true. I also think there's a chance Chad Pennington might be a little too geeked up for this seminal event in his life. And I think the crowd will go from angry at the start to euphoric once it sees the Jets in control of the game -- if not their destiny -- midway through the second half.

Prediction: New York Jets 26, Miami Dolphins 24

Why would the crowd be euphoric, Peter, midway through the second half?

After all, didn't you predict a Patriots win and then this: Prediction: Baltimore Ravens 27, Jacksonville Jaguars 9

So why would the Jets' crowd be euphoric at 6:15 pm on Sunday?

He also logically picked the Ravens to defeat Jacksonville.

and.............
Denver Broncos (8-7) at San Diego Chargers (7-8)

Midway through the fourth quarter, a muscular man with sunglasses and Padres cap on sneaks into the stadium, stands in the end zone, and watches the final minute or so tick off the scoreboard, with Philip Rivers completing a two-point conversion pass to win the game. The man smiles knowingly, and sneaks out of Qualcomm while the fans blow the roof off the place. Strange. No one notices Ed Hochuli leaving.

Prediction: Denver Broncos 39, San Diego Chargers 38

Peter King, the only person who makes John Clayton seem like an NFL savant. I wish I got paid to write idiotic pipe dream drivel like he does.

I guess the worst of all worlds for us would be:

Assuming the Pats win in Buffalo:

1. Jets lead by 10 over Miami.
2. Ravens routing Jacksonville.

Then the Jets clear out by halftime and Jets "blow" a 10 point halftime lead to lose by 14.

I don't even want to imagine what this board will look Sunday night.

That is my worst nightmare, and the main reason I'm PISSED the NFL moved the games around.

I can't even bear to think about that

So the Jets couldn't scoreboard watch two games rather than one? It's irrelevant really. Any good coach would not allow the score to be shown or updated in any manner in the staduim. Best you can do as a team is win your game and see what happens in any other game affecting your playoff hopes after your game has ended. At the very least you end the season on a high note.

I have a good feeling about a Pats win and feel just as good that the Dolphins will lose this weekend. In the meantime let's all get in the Holiday spirit and enjoy Christmas!!

Provided that Seymour doesn't miss the game, I have a lot of confidence in our run defense. I have just as much confidence in our running game. The Bills are a talented team, so it's definitely important not to overlook them, but, if the Pats play the game that we all know they can play, they'll win.

Because Peter King is an idiot, that's why. In the Tuesday edition, he also expressed how furious he was (upon being prompted by a Pats fan) that the Jets could conceivably take the field with nothing to play for, since the Pats and Ravens both play at 1. You'd think he'd fact-check when the Ravens-Jags game actually is before writing that...

There will be a Miami fan situated behind the Jets bench with a PDA giving the Jets constant updates.

Parcells has already purchased seats for the fan.

I know if I owned the Patriots, this is exactly what I would be doing.

Words can't do justice to this guy. As much as I fervently wish it were otherwise, these Jets gladiators he mentions by name will lie down like dogs in July Georgia heat because that's what they are - dogs, and they're led by the #1 mutt, Mangina. I hope I'm wrong.

haha. doesnt make sense what he wrote about the euphoria based on the predictions. who knows. probably thought it sounded good, and added into his piece at the last minute, and didnt realize the problem
