Some non draftee names that are out there.

Channing Crowder (Dolphins) - The Matt Light beat down aside, the guy can play.
Carlos Dansby (Cardinals) - Seems like a pretty good player, although I am sure he will be expensive and likely over priced.
Eric Barton - (Jets) - Not flashy, but solid physical player.

Bart Scott? I think he is more of an OLB but he is a pretty good player.

What if BB goes after Ray Lewis? After the preseason game against the Ravens, BB sought out Ray and I've seen BB only do this to a couple of players (Ed Reed, Kerry Rhodes, and Colvin when he was with the Bears to name a few). And BB loves veteran players, so who knows.

As for Bart Scott, I live just outside Baltimore so I hear a lot of his comments and other stuff, and that guy is pretty much insane. I'd love for the Pat to get a player like him who'll just go balls out and play like his life depended on it (which he does) but I don't know if he would be considered a "Pats" type player because of the baggage that he comes with.

I've been wondering about Ray Lewis... I have no doubt that he can still play and would fit nicely at ILB for the Pats,,,HOWEVER his "boyz" still killed two people in Atlanta (jury trials in Atlanta are suspect at best, anywhere else, and he would most likley still be wearing an orange jumpsuit) and I'm not sure that Robert Kraft would want him on his team.....

I've sadi before, that I could see the Pats going after Channing Crowder

Andra Davis will almost certainly be cut by Cleveland due to his cap number. I think he's as good as delivered.

Lewis wants top dolllar and a 4-3 with big bodies to protect him from blockers.
Bart Scott doesn't strike me as a favorite for Myra.
Channing Crowder is in the same class as Bart Scott.
Eric Barton I like.
Dansby looks like a possibility.
Andra Davis may be cut for his cap hit, especially if Savage cans Romeo to cover his own butt, but for now he's under contract.

He has looked terrible against the run almost all season for the poor Browns. The DE's and ILB's for the Browns have not put enough effort into stopping the run. Between them and the QBs, poor Romeo didn't stand a chance this season.

What would he look like with our D front?

I don't know if he would want to play in a 3-4, but Ray would be phenomenal here.

Another guy who I have always loved, though he looked a little out of place in the Jets 3-4, is Jon Vilma. He is having a great year with the Saints. The Jets said he could negotiate a trade with any team EXCEPT the Patriots, so maybe we did have some interest in him.

The Ravens play a 3-4. Ray would fit right next to Mayo. Personally I'd rather have Suggs. Move AD or Vrabel in the middle and you've got a good front.

When the Ravens switch to the 3-4 a few years back, Lewis was horrible in it because he could handle the pounding of going up against the D-linemen. He threw a tantrum and they switched back. Though they call their current scheme a 3-4, its not really. Unless you all really believe that Haloti Ngata is the biggest DE in the league at 350 lbs. Suggs is one DE and Pryce is the other. Scott, Lewis and Johnson are the 3 normal LBers.
