Give me a break: Jets/Fins to move to 4:15?

We're talking about it on other threads. They need to move both the Jets and Patriots game or neither. If they move just the Jets you North Easterners need to march on NY and light the f*cking NFL offices ablaze.

Um, WTF. Integrity, please. Seriously, the Patriots keep getting screwed over. This is ridiculous.

doesnt it make sense to move the pats game ?
Its like 2002. Pats and fins played early and the jets played late knowing what they had at stake. i still remmeber jets had nothing to play for if the pats lost and when the pats won in OT, the stadium in nyc erupted in cheers.
that said i would rather play at 1 in buffalo than 4 .

It does - but they would still have to move either of the NY teams, which is fine. Moving either one AND the Patriots works just fine.

Actually, this is good for me. Now I'll get to see that game, whereas before, it was scheduled at the same time as the Titans.

That's a very good point, and one that would probably be the fairest at this point.

As it stands now, the Phins will be playing a less than inspired Jets team IF the Patriots win the 1 o'clock game. That is completely not fair to the Patriots.

If the Jets-Phins game is on at 1, then the Jets still have something to play for regardless of wether or not the Pats win.

I'll be willing to bet that Goodell will move the Pats along with the Jets/Phins to the 4:15 slot. For a few reasons.

1. Allows the Ravens/Jags game to be televised in the New England market, a game that will be super important for the Pats playoff hopes.
2. Eliminates the ability for the Pats to get left out of the Playoffs on just a lack of effort by another team.
3. Bob Kraft is one of the most powerful people in terms of marketing the NFL.
4. Leads to some high drama watching the game. If one market gets the Phins/Jets, they'll get the constant look-ins to see what New England is doing and vice versa. The NFL (and CBS/FOX for that matter) love such gimmicky stuff.

nice post...I find I'm in agreement

If the game is moved, the reason will be that it is expected to be a competitive game.

If that's not how things turn out -- well, it will have been an honest error.

They need to move both or none...it is that simple. So screw the Pats again and have the Bills-Pats game at 1...so if teh Pats win we can see Mangini sit on his hands and lose. PLEASE!!! Integrity? That would really stink if that is the case. Move both or neither...or as far as I am concerned Goodell needs to be gone!! Wait a minute...I feel like that anyway...maybe thrown out on his butt in the middle of winter..
I agree..that it's better to have both moved...but I bet THAT doesn't happen. We will find out today.

I agree.....someone should just go to NYC kick Goodell on his unholy ass out of the league and swing by the jest offices and hand mangenious his walking papers....

Good I hate new york.....

The Jets have never won at 4:15, whether they move just the Jets game or our game as well. :( Some Jets fans do not actually want the game moved for that reason, so that's an interesting predicament. Additionally, the Jets lost 3 of their last four games, but it should have been all four. And today, they put up 3 points in almost similar conditions that Miami put up 38.

My point is that Mangini could be the best buddy of Belichick and the Jets could absolutely want to slaughter Miami and let us in, but I'm just not sure the Jets have a very big chance of winning even if they wanted to. Although, Seattle did play very, very well, and if they hadn't fumbled, would have had a couple additional touchdowns. So maybe we do have some hope. But I think we should do what Belichick has said--hope for an 11-5 team (meaning we beat Buffalo), and if we make the playoffs, then we make the playoffs.

Jacksonville can fix all this by taking the Ravens to the woodshed.

You can see why they did this it's because we still need help when it's all said and done. If Miami had lost yesterday Buffalo/Pats would have been moved to 4:00. By right Miami controls their own destiny unlike us. Also knowing the bad blood between the Teams as Division Rivals i don't expect anybody to lie down. The bottom line, if the Jets win and we win we are in.

well maybe because of tv network stuff i guess , i dont know. but i have seen 49ers and raiders play at the same time sometimes
anyway , as bb says "They will let us know when to play and where to play and we will be there" :)

SF/Oakland is in a different situation. The majority of their games are played on the west coast so there is less flexibility in moving one or the other to 1:00 eastern time. The only other option would be to make one or the other a prime time game. That would not happen.

However, historically, one of the Bay Area teams is moved to 1:00 when they go as far east as KC or St. Louis if the other team has a west coast game.
