Seattle is 2nd Hottest December/January Team

one playoff game in each of the last five seasons (2003-07).

Sure, Seattle's record sucks, and there is a scenario where the Patriots might not make the playoffs (as such a scenario always exists for every team at some point every year.)

But the Patriots have not only won the last five division crowns, but also a playoff game in each one. The Seahawks have not only made it to the playoffs each of the last three years, but won a playoff game. That is not easy to do.

Seattle and New England are teams that seem to play well in late December and early January, by this statistic. No other of 30 teams can compare.

And Seattle's active personnel resemble their previous teams from previous years, more so than we do. They should be proud of themselves and play the Jets with pride.

Let's cheer for a Seattle and Patriots victory Sunday--two great teams that get hot right about now! Seattle played well against New England--a division leader--and now can make up for the loss by playing another AFC East division leader, and this time winning. What matters is not Seattle's record, but their angst to prove themselves against leading teams they can beat, like the Jets.

well..we can grasp at all the straws we can right now but i really didnt expect the cowboys to lose to tonite. So i dont know how an injury decimated seattle team can carry our hopes.maybe it will. It played us hard but we were out of defensive starters in the game. jets on the other hand are quite healthy.

I'm not real confident but the HF gives us a shot.

Seattle is -20 (points) at home, The Jest is +7 on the road. Over almost a season those are close to even. By comparison, Seattle is -75 on the road the The Jest is +59. So the teams are a lot closer at the location they're playing at than the overall numbers would make it seem.

IMO Thomas Jones should have 150+ yards rushing against that porous Hawks defense and I can see Favre carving up 250 in the air to Keller,Cotchery and Coles

The chances of the Hawks beating the Jets is about the same as Detroit winning a game this season - not very likely.

I hear that....after watching Dallas and KC fail, I think I'll check this one out after halftime.

What I keep going back to is the thought that if the Jets do lose today, they'll have to win next week against the Dolphins to help us. That's right...the Jets will have to win a game that won't benefit them at all, against a team playing for the division, and if the Jets win it will help......the Patriots.

My fear is that the Jets would lay a gigantic egg--maybe intentionally--in that scenario.

I didn't see any of the game, but, based on the scoring back and forth, I'll give a prop to KC for playing 60 minutes and not mailing in what was to them a meaningless game.

Now, we're left with the impossible scenario of hoping that the Jets lose and then beat Miami next week, knowing that, by winning a game that will mean nothing to their playoff hopes, they're putting the Pats in the Playoffs. As in..."I don't think so."

Seattle showed that they have had winning in their blood when it mattered in December/January, since the team has been used to winning a playoff game each of the past three years. Although they won't get into the playoffs this time, they showed that they still know how to play football. They picked up their play against the Patriots and Jets.

We had a bigger quarterback loss with Brady than they did with Hasselbeck, and we also had more crucial injuries of other players. But they impressed this Patriots fan by stepping up, just like Patriots did this season. I had a feeling that Seattle would feel that playoff itch like we are simply because they've been there the past three years, and winning playoff games. Thank you Seattle!
