I have to call BS on Mort. Bob Kraft is the owner, but he stopped getting involved in the team signings 9 years ago. Almost as a condition of BB becoming THE MAN. Pioli has as much say in this team as BB.

That is twice now.. both uncredible sources.. that this has come up.. I dont know, maybee he does want to do it.. But cant see him running a franchise like Detroit, or Cleveland when he had a chance to interview with the Giants 2 years ago and turn it down.. Kc maybee ,but not those 2 franchise..

they''re babbling.......pioli to the lions, mcdaniel to the lions, cassel to the lions.............who else will they take

Simply wishful thinking and hypotheticals.

If it was anyone other than mort I might believe it.

I have heard a rumor that Kraft is eying a new team.

While doing shots with Woody Johnson, Bob and Woody decided to trade teams just to shake things up and for a little excitement.

Here is who Mort's source may be..

Parcells worked with Mort on espn for a couple years...

pioli is parcells son in law..

that could be who his source is... But who know, its hypothetical at this point..

you cant believe anything you hear on espn for football at least...

Can we say Tomato Tomase.:snob:

Every time a job opens up this rumor resurfaces.

:deadhorse:

Don't we go through this every year?
How many times will they cry wolf before they get it right?
Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in while if it keeps trying.
:confused::confused::confused:

If Pioli is as good as everyone says, he ought to WANT to get out of BB's shadow and run a team himself, the same way BB wanted out of Parcell's shadow.

That is the conumdrum. If he really is good, he'll be gone eventually. If he isn't as good as we think, he'll stay here.

Just like with oordinators. The really good ones leave to be head coaches.

The only way Kraft can keep him is to give him final say in personnel matters.

Given the caliber of NFL commentators, I'm surprised no one is speculating that Belichick will want to go to a new team tou get out from out of Pioli's shadow. ;)

Same story, different year.

You're assuming that Pioli is like everyone else--which may not be the case.

As an example here with the Patriots, don't you think Dante Scarnecchia could have at least been an OC by now if he wanted it? [Quite simply, he doesn't.]

Every team MB has discussions about rumors of possible coaching/front office change and they can be broken down into two groups:

Group A:
OMG our HC is considering retiring.
Team X is talking to our DC about becoming HC
Team Y is wants our GM

Group B:
Will X get fired?
Can we get Y?
I want the entire coaching staff fired!

Be greatful we live in group A.

Like the Swallows returning each Spring to Capistrano............

So you know, what, about 6 people in your life?
