Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in history

Coldest game in their history might be a better thread title.
Good ! I think this hinders warm weather teams far more than 32 and snow.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in history

Good news, every bit helps. A actual chance that Balti, Miami, and the Jets could ALL lose this week.

My christmas wishes right there.....

Oh yeah....and for us to win the SB!!!

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in history

Dan better get those guys some isotoner gloves.

For the life of me I never figured out how he got the gig to be their spokesperson. Who want the gloves worn by the Dolphins. I'll buy the gloves endorsed by the QB of the Packers.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in history

even if one of them loses that would give us hope

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in history

That article hurt to read. Too many frozen balls.

As Bill Simmons pointed out, it would be their first cold weather game of the year (everything else has been indoor or warm weather).

Nah. The Packers fans all where the orange hunting get-ups. No place for isotoners in that uniform. I think Dan's Pittsburgh accent actually pulled off the isotoner gig.

Miami in cold weather games in December in the 21st century

2007: 0-2 at Buffalo and New England
2006: 0-1 at Buffalo
2005: 1-0 at New England (Pats threw that game anyway)
2004: 0-2 at Denver and Baltimore
2003: 1-1 win at Buffalo, loss at New England
2002: 0-2 at Buffalo and New England (lost at Minnesota too but even though it's a cold area, they play indoors)
2001: 0-1 at New England

A robust 2-9 with two more cold games on the horizon.

Translation: The fish freeze in December.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in [their] history

This will be a rough game for them, and that's a good thing.

However, my prime focus this week (after the Patriots of course), will be {gulp} cheering the Cowgi...... errrrr, I mean Cowboys, on to victory. Go Romo, Go Owens, Go PacMan

ughhhhh, I just threw up in my mouth a bit. Excuse me while I go take a shower.

Great analysis! 2 and 10 sounds very sweet. However Pennington has cold weather experience and their defense is on fire.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in [their] history

I hope Porters berries fall off.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in history

If you are in a warm weather climate and then try to play a game in cold weather it doesn't really help you.
I think the only time that might help is Chad knows how the ball will handle and how to pass.
It is very hard to adjust in 2 days to a frigid climate when you are out and about in a shortsleeve shirt during the week.
The inverse of this is true also, look when teams go down to Miami in Sept, they always have a tough time with the humidity even though they might have dealt with some humidity in the summer.

good point.....
the fact that these guys got to go into a DOME in Canada...in what SHOULD HAVE BEEN Buffalo's home conditions and ADVANTAGE.....is ludicrous.......Does anyone think the league would have ok'ed the Pats playing against Miami in Mexico in an indoor air conditioned DOME in September?.......unreal.......I hope all the doofins nutsacks turn to ice!

Last I checked...Penny was not THE TEAM!.......probably be alot of running in this game....should be interesting

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in [their] history

The fact that Joey Porter, Chad Pennington, Vonnie Holliday, and the current team might play a game colder than Dan Marino played in doesn't necessarily make all those old stats relevant.

For coldest in our history, how many were at that Tennessee playoff game? Man, that was frosty. My beer froze in my cup.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in [their] history

This is good news. I had given up on us winning the division as I could not see Miami losing to KC. I figured the Jets had a better chance of going 0-2 than Miami going 1-1.

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in [their] history

"Dolphins live in tropical waters. Most of them stay within 100 miles away from Florida. ..... Dolphins like warmer water than cold water."

Dolphin

Re: OT:Fins could play coldest game in [their] history

The Dolphins have the type of running game, short range accurate passing game, and defense to win in the cold weather (ala Jacksonville of last year). History may say one thing but the Chiefs are terrible. Don't get your hopes up too much.
