Re: Kansas City the latest to look to Pioli?
The provincialism is unbelievable. That Boston is mecca and that its just assumed that Pioli will just spend the rest of his life just happy to be priviliged to be allowed to just be a part of things here.
That very well may be. But we dont know how peoples personal situations change. Maybe he and his family at a different place than they were 2 years ago and now is the time to make a move. Maybe he doesnt like New York. Maybe, for him, the lifestyle in Kansas City, is a better fit than Seattle. Who knows? None of us do, thats for sure.
Im just saying, to dismiss it foolish and naive. There was a time Belichick wanted to make his own mark without Parcells. There was a time Caroline Kennedy had no interest in political office. Things change.
And if Pioli gets a offer to be in total control in KC, which by the way, is a great franchise when run right, it was a cornerstone franchise when the Patriots were a laughingstock, whose to say he wont get rid of Edwards and take his shot at making his mark with the Chiefs?
Dayton Moore, the GM of the Royals, turned down a job in Boston when he was assistant GM of the Braves,"because it wasnt in the best interests of his children"
the next year he took the job in KC.
The KC area might also be more enticing to Pioli forthe same reason. You never know, people.
