That made me smile. Bless you Bill, bless your soul. So when do we build the statue?

Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't sunday his 100th win as a coach of the Pats?

i shall GLADLY correct u....

it was number 150

I think it was his 100th win as a Patriots coach, but he is closer to 150 total when you add in his years with the Browns...

In true Red Auerbach tradition, something I never expected to see emulated in my lifetime. Red's "arrogance" lighting up a victory cigar didn't seem to get the animosity of the press in that era. Then again the 60s and 70s Celtics were a pale sideshow to the vaunted yet always losing Red Sox who were the obsession of the press.

Seattle = 150th overall win as HC anywhere
Oakland = 100th regular-season win as HC of the NEP

Thats damn awesome. We're also the winningest NFL team since 1985 in terms of Super Bowls/appearances :D Thats 23 years of football!

People focus on the worst years between 85 and the arrival of Parcells, but they forget that this team has only had a handful of actual losing seasons since then, usually during transition periods. Otherwise they have fluctuated between "good" and "amazing" (with the occasional "sorta good" Pete Carroll year)

Can you possibly imagine how villified somedody who did that now, in this current tmz/bspn/internet politically-correct, profit-via-ratings-via-scandal media world we live in?

I knew we would be up there, but not #1...kudo's to the Pats..

further down the release:

we are also in the most successful 100-game stretch in the history of the league

is winningest a word:p

surely successful would have been better

*pedant mode off*

Not quite. That particular stretch ended a few weeks ago. But the record is still the Patriots'. :)

Yet another remarkable fact: the Patriots' current streaks of games won when leading at halftime and after three quarters are the longest in NFL history. The second-longest streaks also belong to the Patriots. :)

That is a great document. If anyone hasn't clicked on the link, you must. Its a 64 page document filled with little tidbits about how successful the Pats have been since really Kraft took over. Its awesome.

Rich Gannon during the OAK game (debacle) commented on how different the trajectories of the two teams were since the infamous "Snow Bowl" playoff game.

I guess that doesnt include the 2006 AFCCG and last years Super Bowl.

We haven't played in Tampa since '97!

Saying we'll be there again next season... no we won't!!!!

So, when will we play there in the end???

Won't be another 12 years surely!
