Well sort of and the best we are going to get for now. Hopefully this is a good sign:
Matt Light in focus - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

Patriots coach Bill Belichick held a conference call with media members today (5 p.m.) and he was asked a few injury-related questions, specifically with left tackle Matt Light.

Here is the Q&A from that segment:

Another week, another game in which a couple players couldn’t finish due to health problems. Any feel for if Matt Light is a serious, sort of season-ending type thing, or is more time needed there?

“As you know, we got back real late last night and the players are coming in today, doctors and trainers are looking at them. It’s still pretty early here in the week. We’ll see how it goes. I’m sure at this time of year, everybody is less than 100 percent, and we have a lot of guys with bumps and bruises, and are sore and all that. It was a long flight back. It’s a two-game season....But no, there is nothing that I would say – from the end of the game yesterday until today – that I know of that will be a major season-ending nature, but that could all change, too. Right now, we’re just re-evaluating.”

I'll take it as a good sign! If Matt had a season-ending injury or even the possibility of one,BB wouldn't have said that he knew of no such news-he would've said "day to day" LOL:D The fact he didn't skirt the issue sounds like good news.

knowing BB, i wouldnt say exactly its a good sign at all.
iam more concerned abt guyton than light.

I have a feeling Guyton will be ok. He walked off the field on his own and being that it was an ankle coupled with the sloppy field conditions and the game being out of reach for the Raiders I think they approached the situation with caution and decided to hold him out. With all the injuries at LB, seems like a logical conclusion. Time will tell.

This is more information than we usually get..

Guyton returned in the 4th Q...he will be OK..

I was just going to say that this must be the most forthright BB has ever been about an injury.

I've got to agree with the other posters on this. If BB is saying ANYTHING about a players injury, than Light is probably ok.

Normally I expect the worst with injuries (and the worst happens), but that seems like good news. And the more I hear about Guyton the more it sounds like the Patriots just being precautionary. I mean, would YOU put him back into a game that was over since the 1st quarter?

Sounds like Matt could be good to go for Sunday! Whew...that's an injury we don't need, Guyton's either. If we can limp into a playoff spot without any more severe injuries I'll be grateful:eek:

I think both will be OK...slight separation not all that bad...many times it can be worse..for a linman not as serious as for a QB...

The report of Guyton returning in the 4th was not true...I originally heard Santos and Capp saying Guyton was back in in the 4th..but according to Reiss..he never came back. Just another case of oldsters seeing wrong numbers and thinking he was back.

He said nothing as usual. He said nothing seems season-ending, but then said that could all change.

:ditto: :agree:

Plus he said there is nothing he knows of that is season ending. That's a huge good sign. Of course, treatment could not go well, or there could be a tear as well as a speraration that becomes apparent in the next day or so, but as of now, BB has heard nothing that is season ending. (And if there was, I'm sure BB would have heard it.)

Because BB does not give out info in huge quantities, reporters who need things spoon fed think he never says anything, and that is pure laziness. If you listen to his press conferences (not read transcripts, but LISTEN to him) so that you get a feel for how he passes info, you can learn a lot. You can also tell who he respects and who he doesn't by his answers. I wish they would be better about identifying the questioner, as that has a big impact on how he answers. I recognize a lot of the voices, but sometimes I can't hear the question well.

I seem to remember BB calling Lamont Jordan a quick healer... like 2 months ago, hehe.

Seems to be Big Ben has a partially separated shoulder and he's still playing. Matt'll be alright.

Having just learned more than I ever wanted about shoulder separations and fractures, if Matts is a level 1 he should be fine for Sunday. Let's hope that's what it is. I was not very impressed with DeVoie when he came in last Sunday.
