This is a crisis of epic proportion.
No love and kisses orgy.
Will Polian call an emergency rules committee meeting ?
I don't know what JF was thinking today not kicking the FG, but it does make for some interesting new scenarios !
Go Jags !

Titans might be playing for the #1 overall seed in the AFC, Colts might be facing an elimination situation.

Could end up being awesome, or meaningless - depending on next week.

A win for the COlts Thursday, and they lock up a playoff spot. HOWEVER, a 5 seed is preferred, so regardless, week 17 looks like it might have some meaning for BOTH teams.

Like OMG!!!

I hope both the Colts and Titans play hard. I think Manning will play hard since he is making a final MVP push right now.;) Nobody is standing out and he is getting a lot of attention to win it from guys like Peter King and Mort. He could win MVP if he has a good final 2 games.

Sanders will play against the Jags, he sat out against the Lions.

My MVP vote goes to Adrian Peterson.

Interesting how these two play each other in the last game of the year - again. For weeks I thought this would screw up the playoff chances of the Pats, or another team - just ask the '07 Browns. Funny that now they both may want or need to win that last game.

As far as MVP goes, it's got to be Warner or Brees or even Andre Johnson over Manning. Let Peyton do his commercials - the last one was great - but give the MVP to somebody else this year. Based on what happened when he wasn't there, Jeff Saturday was the MVP of the Colts, so how could Peyton be MVP of the league?

Kurt "Can't win on the road, worst divison in league, 20 fumbles warner

Brees *Non playoff bound* Disappears on the road????????

Andre *Colts beat twice* On a non playoff barely .500 team Johnson?

Brees and Warner are DONE in the mvp race

Peyton owns the spot now

Peyton is without question the most valuable player i the league, oh and we just one 5 in a row without saturday

Sorry, I should have clarified. I was listing players that should - not would - win the MVP, or get the award over Manning.

So are you saying a player should be disqualified from winning an MVP because the rest of his team is not very good? If that's the case, why draw the line at playoff team; just give it to either the QB or RB of the team with the best record and don't even bother having a vote or discussion on the award. And in that case, Peyton doesn't get the award.

If not for a couple of teams handing the Colts a win, they'd be in an identical position as New Orleans - and the Colts would have an identical record. Brees has had to overcome just as much, if not more than Manning with injuries and poor defense. But if the Colts were 7-7 and Manning had Brees stats, I am quite confident that you would still be touting him as the MVP.

Open your eyes, your comment that "Peyton is without question the most valuable player" shows your lack of objectivity. Right now it is very unclear who the MVP is - and Peyton is not one of the two or three names brought up in discussion most often.

Did you watch ESPN today? Dilfer said discussion over, Peyton is MVP. Peter King and Mort have him at the top of their lists. To say he is not getting in there with the top names is crazy.

Oh really Brees overcame more? Two knee surgeries, missing TC and preseason and starting the year with THREE new interior lineman against good D lines while also having NO RUNNING GAME most of the season? Spare me the argument of how many freaking yards he throws for too.

Yeah Brees overcame more. Not to mention he does not have Manning's come from behind wins, clutch 4th quarter plays and wins on the road. Has Brees beaten the best defenses in the AFC? Has Brees done anything outside his dome? Did Brees help lead his team from a 3-4 record to likely a playoff spot? Has the Colts defense really been THAT good? It's better than the Saints D but to think it's fantastic is crazy, not to mention Peyton has had some pretty soft defenses over the years as well.

You gotta make the playoffs to win MVP in my opinion or at least not be ranked dead last in your division.

As for Warner show me when he has beaten a decent defense this year or not folded against a halfway decent team or on the East coast. I know his running game is struggling and they won the division but the Colts likely would win the NFC West and very doubtful the Cards would have beaten the Titans out for the AFC south.

If Colts had the same record as the Saints along with the same stats as Brees no I would NOT think he should win MVP.

I will give you Peterson as a legit case but after winning ROY last season I dont see it at the moment. I do think he wins MVP eventually though one of these years.

Now back to the orginal question as to whether the final game will mean something it depends on whether the Colts take care of business against the Jags and the Titans against the Steelers.

Likely if the Colts beat the Jags banged up players like Addai, Sanders, Saturday, and Gary Brackett will miss the Titans game but we have been resting particular guys all year, we did against the Lions too (everyone is playing the Jags game btw). But, the Titans have thier own injury issues as well with their two most important D line players banged up who will likely rest.

I think Peyton will have to play well in the final 2 games to make a stronger case too.
