OAKLAND -- Welcome to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, where the Patriots visit the Raiders today (4:15 p.m. EST). This used to be called the McAfee Coliseum.

It is a cloudy day here in the Oakland-Alameda area. The current temperature is 49 degrees and there is about a 70 percent chance of showers for the game, according to reports. Winds aren't particularly strong at this time, although the orange flags atop the goal posts are fluttering, so that will be something to watch in the field-position game.

John Parry has been assigned to referee today's game. Parry previously worked the Patriots-Jets game in Week 2, a contest in which New England was flagged for two accepted penalties, the Jets six. The Patriots' 44 accepted penalties are a league low, while the Raiders' 96 accepted penalties are an NFL-high.

Both teams might consider whether they want to challenge any of Parry's calls today. According to Mike Sando of ESPN.com, Parry has had just one call overturned this season, which is an NFL low.

Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to be in attendance today. He accepted an invitation from the Raiders to attend the game.

More to come throughout the day
.

A cold chill went up my spine when I read that today, and I don't understand why.

I never wish bad on people...but he is an exception...as far as I am concerned the worst Cmmsr in sports...EVER!!

Invited by The Raiders? For what? With Al Davis God only knows but it STILL seems ominous despite crazy Al. It's like he'll be watching for penalties or something. There's the Moss thing-on Pats Game Day they were saying how PUMPED Randy is for this game.

I have no idea why but it makes me wary too.

Along those lines, the Jets getting the benefit of some dicey calls here in the last 10 minutes of this game w/Buffalo. A grounding call went against the Bills unlike any I've ever seen--Losman clearly had a target.

Hate complaining about the refs, though--Bills punt returner just let a punt roll 20 yards......

And the Jets pick it up and score a touchdown. Nuts!!

Serves me right for getting caught up in this game.....Losman and the Bills are a joke.

The Jets are going nowhere. They won this game because of a boneheaded play call and horrible execution. Yes they forced a fumble but that play should never have been called.

Cannot believe this. Jets pull one out of their ass, and Miami stops SF's winning run in the RZ.

Great.

He's bad but nobody is worse than David Stern.
