Im only going to mention the good ones, no need to bring up the certain playoff game in 1976......
1. The Snow Game, Jan 2002 - Still my most emotional moment as a Patriots fan. When they won it, I just sat and cried. There were so many intangibles to the game. The Snowglobe beauty of it. The last game in the old stadium.
The magical sense that this story had just begun. When Vinatiei hit the 45 yarder to tie it I immediately thought, "this is Bernie Carbo in '75!!"
2. Paying back all the old debts, Jan 1986 - It was still amazing to me the Patriots were even IN the playoffs. I was happy with that. Then they went and WON a playoff game, against the Jets, no less. already it was their best season ever. Now...to go into L.A., and beat the Raiders 27-20, and pay them back for 1976? With a National Audience, **** Enberg and Merlin Olsen calling the game. This was too much. Who can forget Brian Holloway crying?
3. 1978, Just a few months after Darryl Stingley, the Patriots go back to Oakland on a special ABC Sunday Night game and beat the Raiders,21-14. That was special. Back then, just being on National TV was special.
4. 1976, The upstart Patriots whollop the Raiders 48-17 in Foxboro. It would be the only loss for the Raiders all season.
5. Opening Day, 1971. The first regular season game in the then new Stadium. And it was Jim Plunketts first game. Coming off a 2-12 season, all the hope was put on his right arm. Early in the game, NBC's video was lost for a long stretch of time, with only the audio feed of Charlie Jones keeping me informed what was happening. The Patriots pulled off a huge upset, defeating the Raiders 20-6.
