Nnamdi Asomugha says he will not shadow Randy Moss this week.

Asomugha will stay at his right corner position and I think Chris Johnson will be on Moss a good portion of Sunday.

What's the plan? Stick Jab on Asomugha's side of the field all day?

Not sure if anyone already mentioned this but I figured some would like to know.

Or he'll be blowing up welker all day leaving their 2nd cb and a safety to double moss. Big day for Gaff and Sir-Drops-Alot if all goes well...

Benjamin Dropsalotson?

He's good for a drop/mistake a game. Hasn't been doing much which is too bad. But he's as good as they get at saving a pick-6 (denver a few years back, and one more this year). Too bad thats the only place he shines...maybe we should try him for a pass rush?

i waiting to see which team doubles welker and takes its chances with cassel trying to hit moss deep and missing.

The Seahawks did double Welker for much of the game. It's not easy to double team a slot receiver.

I would look for Moss to have a big day. I know that emotion alone cannot carry one to success, but I think Moss will be extra driven in his return visit to Oakland. The fact that he will not be shadowed by Asomugha makes his chances that much better. let's face it, when Moss is in the game mentally, he is as good as they come. He will win the jump balls.

Lets not fit Asomugha for his HOF jacket just yet. I'l take Moss 1 on 1 vs him all day.

ill take moss 1 vs 1 agaisnt anybody...

Based on the production from Welker, I'm not sure why another team would go that route.

Oh yeah, that's right - this is the Raiders.

I'm just hoping Cassel can make the deep throws. If he can put the ball within reach, Moss will get it, jump ball or not. I don't want to see any more balls go soaring over a wide open easy-TD Moss.

This isn't a new strategy for the Pats. As I said in the other Moss thread, the Raiders always have Asomugha play on one side of the field for the entire game.

Yeesh. Long balls take practice, repetition and experience to get good at....Tom wasn't very good with them either early in his career.

By the time Cassel's had enough time to get good at the deep passes....

He'll probably be on another team.

Be content that he'll probably get the ball to Welker all day.

Uh-oh... sounds like the Raiders are disrespecting Moss. And we all know how it turns out when a team disrespects Moss.

As I posted in a previous thread: Asomugha is a very talented corner. And that doesn't have nearly as much to do with why he doesn't get thrown at as everyone thinks. It's the lack of talent on the field with him.

The Raiders defense is horrible. He is the only guy on that team who can hurt the offense so why give him a chance. Teams stay away from him yet still move the ball at will. I'd expect the Pats to do the same.

Although what you describe has happened, there have been just as many times that the ball WAS put within reach, and Moss simply did not catch it.

I mean God forbid that happens:rolleyes: Only if he cared more

Frankly, I'm dumbfounded as to why a player would say ANYTHING about strategy EVER. Ridiculous. WHY THEY LOSE.

Maybe he's lying to hide their real strategy? Oh wait, this is the Raiders. nevermind

I believe this is a proper translation of Asomugha's comments:

"Coach Belichick, if you can get me out of this black hole of talent, I will be eternally grateful." :D
