I don't know if he would still be a consideration as a desperate move and don't know if he could help out at CB or ILB but does anyone think since he is familiar with the team for the time he was here still be a drastic call from BB down the road?

Could Lynch play ILB or CB if it was necessary? and does he have any experience with either position in al his years other than his normal SS position?

I wonder though if his speed if too slow for anymore NFL play

He still can't be any slower then Bruschi has looked prior to his unfortunate season ending injury

Lynch has stated many times over he still loves the game but is he capable anymore of making any type of minor impact??

I think they would have already called him last week (;)) if he could be of any help. That is when they put the other old timers on the plane!

John Lynch = D-U-N.

First of all, John Lynch is retired.

Second of all, I'd rather have Sammy Baugh playing CB or ILB than Lynch.

While that certainly may be true, remember 31 other teams thought Colvin was not good enough to wear an NFL uniform again and here he is .....

Brett Favre was retired

Junior Seau was retired

Many other sports legends retired then came back

So why spew that crap when the word RETIRED is just that?....a word

On that note,I myself would not want to see Lynch play here, especially 38 years old and out of football for 5 months and not having played those positions much, but its a discussion for those who may think differently

Seau held off on retiring I'm sure because there was a discussion that should this injury issue arise, he'd be on the short list. I don't think Lynch got that message headed out of Gillette.

cb? lynch?

ok, ill ignore that...

as for lynch playing ILB...that is interesting

He's retired. He works for FOX.

He could help out.

The parking lot needs some shoveling.

I got a chuckle outta that. One time on Madden, though, I kept using Vince Wilfork as a deep safety. Actually worked out nicely... :p

No, Lynch could NOT help out. I watched the guy play against scrubs in late August. As excited as I was to see him come here, it was obvious why Denver (not exactly a SB bound powerhouse) and the Pats did not want his slow tail on the field.

He's dead, Jim.

How about Fred Marion? I hear hes available.

Colvin had an injured foot, injuries get better, he's only 31. Lynch is old and he'll only get older.

Bronco Nagurski is retired.

Lynch could potentially help, but it sure as hell wouldn't be at CB.

While we are at it could Fred Marion still help out?:p

We a bigger safety who can run in the pratice squad. he actually looked good in preseason and i see them activating him.

Lynch i am not sure we are having trouble in coverage and he can be a good against the run type player but put in coverage is not going to improve anything.

Were those two players CUT by the Patriots after barely seeing any pre-season action because they were HORRIBLE in the limited pre-season action? This is extremely unlikely.

Comparing Seau and Favre to John freakin' Lynch is apples and oranges.
