These have got to be the most pathetic power rankings I've ever seen. Dallas at number 4 ahead of the Colts? Jets at number 6 after back to back losses?

This is how the NFL's 32 teams stack up after 14 weeks.

* New York Giants
11-2 (Previous: 1) Maybe the Plaxico Burress distraction was larger than some of us thought it would be.
* Pittsburgh Steelers
10-3 (2)It's defensive history in the making, although it won't matter if they fail to take care of business in Baltimore.
* Tennessee Titans
12-1 (3)Division championship: check. Home-field advantage: check.
* Dallas Cowboys
8-5 (4)The road to the postseason only gets more treacherous.
* Indianapolis Colts
9-4 (7)They continue to take advantage of a soft schedule, but they still would be a very dangerous wild-card team.
* New York Jets
8-5 (6)A once-promising season is beginning to quickly fizzle.
* Carolina Panthers
10-3 (11)A dominant rushing attack, like the one they displayed on Monday Night Football, is the key to December success.
* Arizona Cardinals
8-5 (8)Congrats on winning one of the NFL's sorriest divisions. Now let's see what you can do in the postseason.
* Baltimore Ravens
9-4 (9)The Ravens' second-ranked defense gets to show off its muscles against the Steelers' top-ranked defense.
* Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9-4 (5)Since when does a Monte Kiffin defense forget how to tackle?
* Atlanta Falcons
8-5 (10)The Falcons couldn't have picked a worse time for their run defense to disappear. They'd better find it, and fast!
* New England Patriots
8-5 (12)That was a huge comeback win at Seattle, but how does this team overcome yet another lost player on defense?

Weekly rankings: Giants maintain top spot despite loss

If you flip Dallas at 4 with Baltimore at 9 then it's about right if you ask me.

Writers doing their job, getting people to talk about their articles and linking to them to generate the hits. Sometimes the most read content isn't the most accurate content.

I think it looks reasonable.

The rankings mean nothing, but they are kinda fun.:)

I understand you don't like the Jets, that's cool.:cool:

Jets won the most important NFL game of all time, and since then have sort of tailed off a bit.:p

maybe next year you can jump on the band wagon after the Jets win the AFCE for the 2nd year in a row.:)

As always, you are nobly defending your team and, as always, you are wrong; though, I must say that your description of the last 40 years of Jests history as "tailed off a bit" is a real gem.

thats great. 40 years. I would say its like the Boston Bruins but at least the Bruins have made it to the finals 5 times since 1972.

hard to argue with us at 12. also hard to argue with 1, 2 and 3. but the cowboys at 4 is kind of silly. the jets don't belong that high any more. the cardinals definitely do not belong above the Ravens, especially if you're considering games played outside of Arizona. the Panthers looked fine last night, but I'm not holding my breath on their prospects.

Blech. Who cares at this point? We have to win and a couple of other people have to lose. That's all I care about. If they want to say the Jets are better than us, but we end up winning the division, it's all the sweeter.

What is a Bruin any way?

40 years is not that long of time when you consider it takes a million years to turn a dinosaur into a gallon of gas.

although Joe Namaths slobbering all over Suzy Kolber is still a classic today.

I wannaaaaaa kiiiiiiissssss yoooooooooooo :singing:

This is great bulletin board material, where is Rodney when we need him..

I think the Boys that high is a bit crazy myself:

* New York Giants
* Pittsburgh Steelers
* Tennessee Titans
* Carolina Panthers
* Baltimore Ravens
* Indianapolis Colts
* Denver Broncos
* Tampa Bay Buccaneers
* Arizona Cardinals
* Atlanta Falcons
* NJ Jets
* New England Patriots/Fins/Philly/Bears/NO

Denver, with the loss of Hillis (who has been great), might be too high. Marshall is a stud though. He is a scary receiver to have to match up with.

Although the Cowboys should have won that game, they lost, so they should automatically drop. Jets, Dolphins and Pats all should be in the middle area between 10-15 the way ESPN has them. All three have issues, but all three are pretty identical in every way, including their records.

hahaha I dont care who you are that is funny right there....well maybe not to Jets fans because its funny because its true.

Is that you Larry the cable guy?
