Actually, it was a horrible deal for Pedroia, but I guess you can't fault the guy for being old school, like Brady and Bruschi.
i agree. i dont know how anybody can say pedroia didn't get a great deal. there is always a lot of risk when you wait till free agency. if i were him i would have done the same thing. 40 mil sets him up for life. hes a young guy. when this contract runs out he will be 32. he can cash in again.Horrible? The guy has played two seasons and just banked a ton of money. If you look at the rate for players signing deals prior to free agency this ranks right up there, especially for a second baseman.
The guaranteed money isn't special because all player's deals are guaranteed.
He is the best second basement in the game.
