There seemed to be a lot of excitement when he came aboard a few months back. Yet, I haven't heard much about him since. What has his role been and what kind of impact has he made? I've always thought of Capers as an aggressive defensive coach (and, yes, I realize, he's not the DC), but I don't seem to find that influence here.

the way our defense is right now, aggressive is a description and a trait it does not have hte ability to display....

Box made the very valid point that Capers has his hands full trying to coach the youngsters in the DBs. That's a full-time job in itself...:(

I don't blame Capers at all. He doesn't have much to work with and the front 7 aren't getting any pressure. Any secondary will get torched if there is no pass rush.

The front 7 do not get much of a pass rush, because 3-4 of them need to help out our piss poor d backs... Capers is not a magic man, he has nothing to work with here.. Deltha Oneal???

Agreed. All you have to do is look at that youtube clip where he tries to jam the receiver and gets totally humiliated.
I wonder how often THAT happens.
Having said that, we still need more production from the outside linebackers.
I just hope Rosy and Junior can help out.
I'm pretty sure Junior can play outside, too.

As the old saying goes: you can't make chicken salad out of chicken $%^&.

I dont know, we have seen the NEP do it before -- Earthwind Moreland et al

Anyway, I agree we did not load up on D -- lots of youngsters, injuries, no pass rush.... many reasons beyond Capers or even Pees.

You're right, we have done it before, but I think we had a front seven then which put more pressure on the QB. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, but I just think that this is a bad secondary combo of veterans who are washed up, or near it, and wet-behind-the ears kids who someday will be much better..

no pressure from vrabel and even when ad was on the right side there was still a lack of pressure couple that with young or flat out bad secondary
and whalah we have pats D

He's worthless. Get rid of him and Dean Peeshimself
