Otis Smith could probably start for this team

That's a stretch, but there's no doubt our pass defense is borderline atrocious. You can count on Hobbs to get beat for huge gains at least three times a game, and we can never get off the field on 3rd down.

But some blame also needs to be shouldered on the rest of the defense (and the coaches schemes), for not getting to the QB nearly enough.

Sure he could. He started on the team that turned this franchise around. Otis had a nose for the ball and was a playmaker which, sadly, is more than I can say for any of the current crop of CBs.

Now, "this a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out" thread (My Cousin Vinny quote).

No wonder it took all of two second to get moved to the practice squad area. JUNK

so effin' pathetic.

44 posts and you are calling this team "pathetic"?

you may just eat those words before this season is done. :D

You can always tell someone doesn't know a whole lot about football when they start blaming the secondary for the terrible pass defense first. Hobbs isn't the best and if you said O'Neal sucks then I would have agreed, but the first problem with the pass defense is the utter lack of pass rush. This is why Colvin was brought back in last week. Are highlight pass rusher, AD is out for the season. You've never played football before have you?
