Giants suspend Burress four games in wake of weapons charges

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Plaxico Burress returned to Giants Stadium on Tuesday, only to be told that he would be suspended four games and placed on the non-football injury list.

While police were still trying to sort out the events surrounding the Manhattan nightclub shooting that prompted the suspension, Burress' season with the Super Bowl champions, and possibly his career with the team, likely came to an end.

The star receiver drove up to the stadium tunnel, one day after he was charged with illegal gun possession. Burress was required to be there because he is on the active roster and injured. He left after about six hours.

Pierce still being looked at for obstruction of justice charges, he plans to meet with New York district attorney in near future.

Bradshaw will be interviewed by police.

Per Sports-Center. Done for the season and will not be getting paid for the remainder of.

If I may complain for a minute (well, a minute on this subject )

Where the F*CK are all the crya$s little b!tches about this subject? The karma and class police should be all over Plax, but none of those bastard whores are saying a goddamm word. Imagine for a sec it was the Pats...it would be 24 hour bashing ALL OVER THE WEB. I swear to God this double standard bullsh!t makes me so angry.

Now, the best part of being a Patriots fan...we would NOT have a piece of sh!t like this on our team. He would have been straightened up (Moss and Dillon) or booted off the team (Willie Andrews) long before he could have done something this friggin stupid.

This will lead to the Giants downfall, IMHO. And I will be cheering it heartily.

Not having Buress will eventually hurt this team in the playoffs. Despite the media telling you this team is now better without it's best and outstandingly clutch receiver.

Exactly; I'm no fan of GODell but one thing he's done is get tough with off field crap like this. One of the few things I agree with him about is his desire to decrease and hopefully even eliminate this kind of thing from the league.

Why can Plax never play quarterback?

He has horrible pocket awareness.
He can't get his shots down field.
He doesn't know when to release.
He doesn't know how to move the safety.
He has a cannon but no accuracy.
He's too eager for draw play.
He takes too many shots down field.

Yes, the Giants were able to easily defeat two currently non-playoff teams without Plaxico, but the guy can absolutely dominate a game.

He, much like Moss, also commands double coverage. He makes an impact even when he's not getting the ball.

He was going to be out 6 weeks with the gun wound injury anyway. For the next 4 weeks he'll be sitting on his couch no matter what, but now it looks like the are "penalizing" him so he doesn't have to miss any games when he's ready to play again. Kind of an empty punishment if you ask me.
