Okay . best way to forget this bad game is to think about the next. We need to win the westcoast trip starting with seattle . Anyone have a scouting on how the seahawks are other than 2-10 ? i havent followed them all season. From what i know hasselback is a decent QB and the west coast offense means lot of passing . Branch will be up for this one and he is good at moving the middle of the field. What is the seahawks weakenes which pats can/will exploit and be the proverbial gameplan ?

No running game, bad offensive line (Hutchinson is the only bright spot but even he is fading), and mediocre defense. Hasselbeck pretty much has to carry the team on his back which he's having trouble with since Julius Jones has not panned out.

However, if we still can't apply pressure to the QB, we may even find ourselves getting toasted by Hasselbeck next week... as unlikely as that sounds.

From what I've read, Hasselbeck's back still isn't healthy. He SHOULD be put on IR, but I guess with Holmgren being in his last year there, Matt is doing his best to please his boss, I dunno.

With that being said, you guys should win by double digits, easy. This team is HORRIBLE. Not just the injuries, but their defense absolutely stinks.

Hutchinson plays in Minnesota but other then that you're pretty spot on.

Whoops! I was talking about Mike Wahle whom I believe replaced him and whom I used to be pretty impressed with. I think he's in his 9th or 10th season now. Used to be a pretty good guard.

He and Marco Rivera played for the Packers for years with Holmgren/Sherman/Favre. Both were beasts and were largely the reason why Ahman Green became one of the best RBs.

The minute they went to other teams, they all of a sudden became injury-prone. Rivera injured his back lifting weights in the offseason after he signed with Dallas, and was ineffective throughout his 2 years there, and when Wahle went to Carolina, he was lucky to play 1/2 of the snaps.

Wahle missed the Cowboys game but they hope he'll be back for the Pats.

The Seattle Times (Seahawks Blog | The Seattle Times) seem to rate Walter Jones highly at RT but seem very perturbed by Hasselbeck's struggles. The Seahawks' offense looks like the kind of limited outfit that BB loves to tie up in knots with different looks etc.

The Seahawk's overall team stats are horrible (Seattle Seahawks Stats). There just doesn't seem to be anything they do well; might be a good day for fantasy owners to start Cassel and Moss. They won against the Rams with a good running performance and against the 49ers with Seneca Wallace doing well at QB.

I remember someone saying, "don't start Cassel against the Steelers--but start him the rest of the way."

If Branch isn't hurt. He has been a huge disappointment for Seattle. Seattle's weakness is their passing defense. A couple weeks ago, they were the 31st ranked passing defense.

I live a couple hours from Seattle and will be at the game rooting for our Pats on Sunday! As for the Seachickens scouting report, I'll tell you this much:

1) They have had as bad a year injury wise as we did this year (Maybe not in quality but at least in quantity). They played with WRs signed off the street a few weeks back. For this game they're two best O-linemen are hurt and Wahle has been pretty much ruled out with Walter Jones (LT and former Pro Bowler) will probably play but not at 100%. Their defense is beat up too with Tatupu and Leroy Hill (2 pretty good LBs) having some nagging injuries as well. Branch should be fine for this game and probably have a decent game. Hasslesack is still nursing his back injury and hasn't been 100% most of the season. Their best D-linemen is out for the year too(Patrick Kerney).

2) Guys to watch:

CB Marcus Trufant - great shutdown corner, but has been known to have a bad game once in a while. Look for a good match up with him on Randy.

TE John Carlson - Charlie Weis product is having a great rookie year and has been one of the few bright spots for the Seahawks in the passing game.

LB Julian Peterson - great pass rusher. Our O-line better step up and protect Cassel.

3) If the Pats don't turn the ball over more than twice, it should be an easy win for us. Can't wait to see them live! I'll be wearing my Bruschi jersey for this one and my wife will sport her Mike Vrabel jersey. It will be awesome!(Pats don't come to this side of the country very often)

Seattle's strength is probably when Cassel throws to Watson. It creates the best opportunity for them to pick easy tipped balls off Watson's hands plus the fumble recoveries tend to be numerous.

You hit that right on!!!!:)

Due to the past and present injuries....Branch and Engram have played in 2 games now coming off the injured list about 2xs this season!! Kerney has been out, and Lofa just came back in!!! Hasselbeck is playing poorly and Wallace just plain "SUCKS!!! WOW, We need a QB and put Seneca back to being our WR!!!!! --All I can say is our best Offensive Coaches left for Redskins along with Zorn!!!! It made a drastic impact on this team!!! Now that Holmgren is leaving and Mora is taking over----Good Luck!!!

Is that Mora of "Playoffs!?! Youre talkin Playoffs!?!" fame?

No injuries!

Is that a done deal?

And, come to think of it, do you think there's any chance our Matt might end up taking over for their Matt? :)

I'm not overlooking a game at Qwest Field (the loudest in football) against a seasoned QB like Hasselbeck. We will be challenged. I think we can win, but remember that Seattle has played a couple of 7-5 teams (AZ, Wash) very close at home w/ Hasselbeck back in the lineup.

It is a done deal. Mora Jr. is going to take over Holmgren's job next year. And about Cassel joining the Hawks, I was just joking about that at work a couple weeks ago. I was telling some of my coworkers (Seahawks fans) that they will overpay Cassel like they did Branch and Alexander and be screwed again for the next 3 years at least.

any team that can throw the ball decently will be hard on our secondary. We better tackle better than the previous games. i feel it will be a close contest like the SF game.

Some quick stats

Hasselbeck is completing 52% of his passes for 5 TD's and 10 INT with a rating of 57.8.

Julius Jones is rushing for 4.4 yards a carry with 2 TD's. Over the last 3 week's he's been less than stellar. Poor to limited rushing game.

Defensively teams are putting up 26 points, and 387 yards (of which 122 rushing) a game on Seattle and they have sacked the QB 26 times.

Providing the Pats dont commit sloppy turnovers we should win, and win easily.

Seattle is awful. You think our pass defense is bad ? Seattle's passer rating against is second worst in the league only beating out Detroit. They're also 3rd worst in yards per attempt against the pass. I don't care how loud their crowd is, we had better win this one going away is we're going to say the "P" word.
