Hopefully for you guys my Steelers will beat the Ravens. The Ravens have owned us in Baltimore so no promises here. I think you will get in.

2 Questions: 1.) Who has the tiebreaker between Pats and Jets?
2.) Why was that Slaten guy returning that kick?

1) It is still up in the air. Division record, common games, and conference games are still to be played.

2) Because somebody without oil on their hands wasn't available.

I actually think you guys may have won without that miscue.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I guess. :) :(

Seriously, though, that's the thing about football--it's not like basketball, where you can change one possession without radically changing the rest of the game. It certainly didn't help the Pats' chances, though.

Sorry, but I think the last possession of the first half and the first possession of the second half were the downfall of the Pats. Not scoring a TD to go up by 7 and then missing a chip shot to end the half and then laying an egg coming out in the 2nd. Pats should have been up by 7 or 10 points before the Steelers even had the ball, instead, tied and down hill from there.......

You are right. I guess the miscue I pointed out was the final straw.

Sorry that it is a bit off the topic, but I could not start a new thread.

To run the table, everything should work well. My concern is, Ghost missed 27 yards field goal. Is it just bad wet day, or is it related to the accident from the previous game? Light and Crowder fight almost injured Ghost. He said during postgame interview last week that he makes long follow-through after the kick. Ok, my point is, if you happen to have any fear that you might get hurt during the kick, it would affect the mechanic, no matter how trivial it is.

I just hope it does not bother him. But, who knows.

Could anyone start new thread on this topic? Thanks...

Jesus jump to conclusions much? How the hell do you come up with the fact that Ghost is hurt because he missed one FG???? Good lord, people need to think before they post.

He missed it wide right by 5 feet in a crappy, wet day. It happens unfortunately.

we havent won more than 2 games in a row so lets wait and see

Rds, I think it is you that need to think. I am not saying he is injured. You do not understand the mental effect on the game. If he HAS fear that he might be injured, which is reasonable assumption from the previous accident, it may affect the mechanic. It is different that he is actually injured.

Psychology is important, true, but I think the bigger issue was by far the weather.

I'm going with a combination: team braincramp in the rain.

So you are saying that the FEAR from getting bumped into while Light slapped Crowder around LAST game, was a more significant cause of him missing that FG instead of crappy weather and bad luck? Kickers miss field goals....

I surely know the impact of bad weather. I am just thinking about the possibility of the mental perspective and would like to know if anyone knows about the actual news on Ghost. Since it was 27 yard chip shot, it is too hard that Ghost missed it even under the bad weather. He has been too good to miss it that wide.

Ghost is extremly valuable player for the Pats. If the previous accident ever affects his mental, it would not be in just bad weather. It will haunt him for long time. I just do NOT want that. That is my point.

Based on your line of "reasoning" (and I use that word lightly), I think the team should hire a psychologist and also end each team meeting with a group hug.

Please show me a kicker who never missed a supposed "easy" field goal. I await with baited breath.

Right now, I think Jets have better conference record to win tie-break, but that obviously would change if Jets lay an egg down the stretch, and should they lose to the Fish and/or Bills, Pats would win divisional tie break with sweep.

Slater was returning kicks because Hobbs was dinged up on the previous defensive series. Certainly highly questionable having a rookie back there in those conditions.

This Pats team is good, but just not playoff caliber. Thats the truth.

I had hoped the defense would improve as Cassel gained experience. But this defense cant get off the field on 3rd down or limit scores in the RedZone.

Defense wins Championships. That what BB told Kraft when he got to NE.

We should win the next 2, Arizona is my worry sometimes our secondary looks so vunerable and with their passing game if we get no pressure on Warner its going to be a long day.

Actually Hobbs had the flu all week and was puking and cramped up on the sidelines and said he couldnt go.
