We're fighting with the Baltimore Ravens for the final playoff spot

I am at the point where as long as the Jets don't win it all, I will be happy. If the Pats knock them out of the playoffs, all the better.

And if someone will knock the Giants out....I will be even happier!!

the ravens run the ball very well, but 3 of their 4 up coming opponents run defense is in the top 11. Also the Ravens dont pass the ball well.

he passed it just well enough to win:rolleyes:

Pretty simple. We need to finish ahead of the Jets, Colts, OR Ravens to make the playoffs.

The problem is we won't be able to break a tie with any of them.

If the Jets beat the Bills and Dolphins at home they will have us on division record. If they win one of those games, we will be tied there and in conference (assuming we win at Seattle and Oakland and they beat San Fran and Seattle).

The Colts beat us.

And the Ravens will have us on conference record since we will probably go 4-0 in the NFC and they have already lost to the Giants.

So I think 10-6 keeps us out. We need to run the table.

Bottom line is that if Indy, Miami, and Baltimore win out and Pittsburgh wins twice more, the Patriots will not get in the playoffs no matter what. In fact Baltimore and Indy could lose once each and the Patriots do not qualify for the playoffs.

Has an 11-5 team ever not qualified for the playoffs since they expanded the playoff teams to 6 from each conference?

In fact we could be mathematically eliminated in two weeks if everthing goes wrong (or right by our rivals).

We're fighting with alot more teams than Baltimore, we're still in the AFC East hunt until the Jets and Fish prove they have the bottle to win it.

we are not dead yet but it is very tough imho

yesterday L was a huge one for our play-off run

but next 4 games are not 'impossible': ARZ at home in december could be ok

now let's try to win both West Coast games and then we will see

I see Miami going 2-2 at best for 9-7, and Baltimore going 1-3 also for 9-7. New England winning atleast 3, to go 10-6 and get in 6th to play the Jets.

my impression is that we can join the play-offs only with 11-5 record...

When were we eliminated from the AFC East race?

Defeatist attitudes like this don't help anything.
