Ryan O'Calaghan (back made of glass)

Justin Rogers (plays for the Cowboys)

I hear you, please remove Meriweather, he's a player and will get better and better, he has great upside. Wheaties needs some time also. All the others, I agree with except Chad Jackson who played for the Broncos today (1 catch 19 yards) and is going to be a big part of Denver's offense next season with Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall, he will be that stud #3 guy with #2 potential next to Marshall, they love his upside in Denver and are bringing Chad along slowly. A major blunder giving up on him so quickly like we did.

wow this thread is a bigger joke than you.

Yet another thread that belongs in the trash. It's becoming an epidemic.

so silly.

I think the drafts have been solid except maroney and watson have not fulfilled their potential if they have what we think or want them to fulfill.

I thought back then we needed linebackers and haven't gotten them until this year.

We absolutely need pass rushers.

the defense right now can't be schemed like it normally is with all these new players IMO

No doubt anymore, poor Member posting is killing this board.

Yeah, OK. Just like that, huh?

...and the list goes on and on, actually.

Anyone who doesn't understand that the 2004-08 drafts have killed our quality depth is either ignorant, a fool, or on the NEP payroll.

Wake up and smell the effin coffee, homers. Defending this FO & Coaching Staff in the face of such obvious incompetence is embarassingly ridiculous. Try giving reality - instead of disparagement - a chance, for once.

Why do we get a thread or six trashing the Patriots drafting after every loss?

Jerod Mayo is pretty good.

And didn't we trade picks for Moss & Welker?

First, have you seen Joseph Addai play since midway through last year. Other than he has been able to stay on the field more than Maroney, how has he been this stud RB. If you are arguing against the Maroney pick, Addai isn't that much of an upgrade.

Second, many of the players listed were late round picks. Late round picks are long shots on many teams. Mincey was a sixth round pick and the fact he is even in the league after several years makes him a good pick. After you get through the first three or four rounds, it is all a crapshoot to whether the player will make it past a year in the NFL.

Third, many of the players listed have been good to great picks based on their draft positions. For example, Sanders is good pick based on where he was drafted and that they are starting. If he was first, second, or even third round picks; you might be able to trash him. But as a fourth rounder, he was a good pick.

Fourth, just because a draft pick is playing for another team, doesn't mean they were bad draft picks. It means the Pats were either loaded at that position or gambled to try to sneak through waivers to get to the practice squad and failed. I never understood that a player who happens to be playing for another team is a bad draft pick because they aren't playing for the Patriots.

Look back at the Patriots busted picks. Then look for non-busts drafted within, say, 15 spots of any of those guys. You'll find a few, but you won't find many.

The vast majority of all draft picks, very early ones excepted, are busts.

And by the way, it isn't even odd that they do better with UDFAs than late-rounders. They have a lot more of those. Most UDFAs are busts too.

Our 2005 and 2007 drafts (if you include the trades) were really good and the 2008 draft cannot be evaluated yet, for obvious reasons. We haven't quite had the 2002/2003 wonder drafts over and over again but that's a pretty hard standard to maintain.

Why do we get a thread or six trashing the Patriots drafting after every loss?

Each and every loss brings out multiple posters trashing Cassel, draft, defense, offensive line, special teams, coaching / coaches, kraft, gillette stadium, foxboro, ma and the United States of America.

how do you assess a good draft? if they become starters? if it translate to wins? pro bowls? it ain't exactly working for the chargers this year.

is it based on playoff wins over a span of seasons?

Follow the link and read the article, and you'll see how they assessed the drafts.
