Cupcake schedule. 11 wins is VERY possible. Was there ever an 11-5 team that missed the playoffs?

Deltha O Neil and her soft coverage skills say hello.

Duane Starks 2008 edition

while i agree the season isn't over, i am not sure it's a cupcake schedule..
the 2 games in a row on the west coast bothers me a little.. they could loose one of those.

positive additude I love it

I don't like our chances against Arizona's offense.

Cupcake schedule the last 4 games.

Seattle is 2-10.....that's a gimme.

Oakland is 3-9 and lost to the KC Chiefs at home....that's a gimme.

Arizona is 7-5, but remember it's on the East Coast, and they are notoriously a bad road team, especially on the East Coast. They could win if the D falls apart, but it is definitely a good chance to win.

Buffalo is 6-6, we've won 10 straight against them....they look flat and maybe ready to tank.

This team should be 11-5.....10-6 AT WORST!

If the Jets lose to Miami or Buffalo, and we tie them in the W/L....we have the TIEBRAKER edge!

Seattle and Oakland? How the hell can they scare you? They will be on the west coast for 2 weeks. They aren't flying to the west coast, back to the east coast, and back to the west.

Thank you for clearing up our playoff chances. I thought it was over when I read a couple of threads on here.

I think the Jets will drop a couple.

I don't like our chances against Arizona's offense.

I do. There are two Cardinals teams - the one who plays in the west and the one who plays on the East Coast. The one on that plays on the East Coast is 0-3 and lost by a combined total score of 72-128 (or an average of 24-43. Besides, the Cards should have their division locked up next week with little hope for a first round bye. The Cards could be playing for nothing to boot.

I think the schedule is cake the rest of the way, but a cake schedule does not guarantee 4 straight wins.

If the Jets win out and we win out, then do we miss the playoffs?

It's close to over.

We have a very low chance for the wild card. We need 2 8-4 teams to drop 2 games this month. If the Pats/Ravens/Colts finish 11-5 they get the tie breaker for conference record.

At this point, pray we win out. Pray Miami beats the Jets.

I honestly don't give a ****. I'm far from a fair weather fan, so save your comments. I would rather forget about this team in December than have some blind faith they can make the playoffs and deal with another defensive melt down in the final seconds of the post season. all season the defense went from average to poor. That's not a good sign.

When all 5 of your losses are to playoff teams, that stinks of 1 and done. I'd rather get the better draft pick. Now if we can sneak into another division crown, I'd take that. But who cares about a weak wild card entrance. This defense is not capable of turning it around. All season the same thing has been on the field, the same thing has failed.

I remember back in the day guys went down and this defense could recover. This season we lost a very, very slow and vunerable SS. We had no answer for his depature. That's on Belichick, considering this was his last season anyway. We lost a ROOKIE CB in Wheatley. I'm so tired of that excuse that rookie CB hurt us. If you go into the season depending on a rookie, you have it coming to you. They tried replacing Samuel with decent corners, Bryant didn't even make the final cut and they had to settle for O'Neal who has been less than stellar. That's not bad luck, that's bad management. We lost Adalius Thomas. I don't even see him as a big loss. He isn't used as a pass rusher in this defense. He led the team with 5 sacks, that's pretty crappy for any pass rusher and speaks volumes about this defense the fact that 5 sacks would be the most of any single player.

The problem with this team isn't Brady. With Brady, we're proably one win better with a severely flawed defense. The coaching has got to improve. Bill has used a soft scheme the last 3 years and its gotten worse every year. He needs to change that. He needs to get the proper horses. Pees needs to go. The guy has no balls in his play calling. Just soft, ineffective defense. Brady can come back and be as good as 2007 next year. It will mean nothing until this defense gets better.

I'm done ranting.

The team we are fighting with, THE BALTIMORE RAVENS schedule is....

Washington
Pittsburgh
Dallas
Jacksonville

Ours....

Seattle
Oakland
Arizona
Buffalo

My guess... Baltimore finishes 10-6. New England finishes 11-5

Arizona is 7-5, but remember it's on the East Coast, and they are notoriously a bad road team, especially on the East Coast. They could win if the D falls apart, but it is definitely a good chance to win.

Firstly...it may be a cupcake...but teams have choked on less than that...I think if they can take 2 out west..they will take rest...
You mentioned that Az is not a good travel team east...ALSO..at that point..I think they will have their place in the playoffs and..it may not mean all that much to them..they are 2 down on Carolina for 2nd...and I reallt think the North will be eating each other up..so it MAY not mean anything...Buffalo could be tough...but..I don;t know..at this point..they have Miami and Baltimore they have to beat out...Miami has Buff and the Jets.. as well as the Niners...will still be tough..

Good, quick breakdown. The loss by the Jets today was actually pretty big since it falls into the category of "common opponents". If the Pats can win out they will also have beaten Oakland, who the Jets have lost to. The Pats just need to keep winning and wait for the Jets to drop one division.

As for the Arizona game, I agree, that one bothers me a bit BUT their defense can be had. Add that to the east coast thing and they are "ours" for the taking.

while the teams don't scare me, back to back games on the west coast does.
Anything can happen. Under normal circomstances the pats easily beat them.
I wonder if they will stay out west again like earlier in the season?

Last time they played back to back out west they split, but SD is better than both other teams

the pats need to win out and get some help.
stranger things have happened and yes, winning out is possible

I agree that it is quite possible we go 11-5. i dont think an 11-5 team ever missed the playoffs, but this might be the year
