Today is Tuesday, usually "suspension announcement" day. It's past 5pm in NY and nothing so I'm kind of guessing Light's avoiding a suspension.

This is the Patriots we're talking about here. The NFL will wait until 10 minutes before kickoff to suspend him. That way there is no chance we can adjust our gameplan accordingly.

same thing i was thinking...goodell would wait until at least thursday to suspend light....

but i would say if nothing comes by friday, hes safe

Contrary to media histrionics the precedent this season is fining in these cases...

I'm thinking a fine and suspension. Goodell is like the Warden in "Cool Hand Luke"

When are fines usually announced? Or is there even a deadline for that?

I've been hearing that Crowder was saying things about Matt's wife, daughter, mother, etc  Whatever happened out there had to be pretty bad-I can't remember offhand anyway Matt(or any of our players) getting into a brawl on the field:confused:

No news is bad news simply because there will be repercussions, and not knowing them sucks.

That said, Kaczur to the left and LeVoir on the right shouldn't show a noticeable drop-off, especially if it happens AFTER the Steelers game.

???

You KNOW he will be suspended ? As there has been no announcement by COB today, it is now very UNlikely he will be suspended.

I believe the fines for fighting start at $10K and progress from there depending upon the severity and the offenders' histories in this area. Has Light ever been fined for fighting before? Crowder certainly wasn't injured. He ran away like a school girl laughing. Other than it's the Patriots and, granted, that may be enough, is there really a reason to think the worst?

I said repercussions. He will be fined and/or suspended. If we knew today about a fine, we could feel peaceful. Knowing nothing is the suck.

There's a chance that after review of game footage and the uncensored version of livewire leniency will be given. Here's hoping.

We know that suspensions usually are announced by now. Jolly Roger may surprise us but I'm very confident that the only penalty will be from Matt's bank account.

The Comissioner is still awaiting the final penalty recommendation from the Jets front office.

Even if he is suspended, can't it be appealed, delaying it until the appeal process is over?

Was that the Jets or the Colts?

Well if its going to be the Colts....i am sure a new rule will be made effective immediately....The Light Rule to go along with the Tuck Rule......

Doesn't that apply just in baseball? Not sure.

No. Any disciplinary action that the league takes can be appealed. Its why Matt Jones was still playing even though he had a violation of the league drug rules against him.

From what I have read in several articles today it appears that Crowder will be suspended and Light fined but not suspended since Crowder initialized the fight.

And that is the reason according to some sources that Porter was not suspended today so that the team would not have 2 starters out for suspensions for different things
