Say Cassel gets hurt and OConnell comes in throws for 1,500 yards in the final 5 games, the Patriots make the playoffs, then O'Connell throws for 500 yards and they win in the first round but gets hurt in the second game and Cassel comes in throws for 400 yards and then gets hurt in the AFC title game and then gets hurt and Brady comes in, throws for 200 yards in the 2nd half and wins the game, then starts out in the SB going 11 for 12 but gets hurt and then O'Connell comes in a saves the game and then in the off season Cassel has some injuries but Brady now has a history with his knee and while O'Connell was good, he gets pulled over for a DUI.

Which one do we keep, which one do we trade, and which one do we franchise?

Why not throw in a scenario that Brady is abducted by aliens and taken back to their home world, but before they leave they clone Brady although the clone is only 80% the QB the original Brady was. Do you go with the cloned Brady or do you trade him and resign Cassel?

I think we should trade all of our Matts - Cassel, Gutierrez, Light and Slater - to Baltimore for Ed Reed, their 1st round draft pick in 2009, their 2nd and 7th round picks in 2010, their 3rd and 6th round picks in 2011, and their fourth and fifth picks in both 2012 and 2013, along with two players-to-be-named later, and the tallest member of their practice squad. Then we trade Ed Reed and Mark LeVoir to the Colts for Bob Sanders and the rights to rename their new stadium. Also, the Jets should give us their tight end Keller just for the fun of it.

We need a veteran backup QB. Should have signed Dante Culpepper when he was available. We still have a shot at Chris Redmond, though.

actually brady can't come back this season even if he did miraculously heal; so the original post is invalid;

how about this though: cassell gets hurt on the first play, out for season; o'connell comes in and get hurts (just for the game though).

Now we have no qb so we let have morris run the wildcat; except that he's allowed to pass out of it. and he runs for 110 yards and passes for 350;

he's so good we decide to keep him back there and he continues his 100+rushing/300+passing.

At the end of the season, do we franchise cassell or morris. can we even franchise morris since there's only one other wildcat position player in the nfl. how is his cap hit going to be calculated?

But what if morris gets hurt, and maroney comes back, and rushes for 60 yards / game. do we give him an extended 10 years/100 mil contract cuz he's the greatest ever. its not his fault the o line doesnt try as hard for him as it does with morris /ben jarvis green ellis / cassell are rushing?

Also, I don't want to trade brady but he's obviously not good enough to start on this team. Maybe we keep him on the roster as the 4th qb, at the 12mil cap hit because I'm sure he'd be a good locker room guy and a coach off the field
