Lets just enjoy the rest of this season...

there is 5 games believe it or not till the end of the season , which seems like it just started..Then the duldrums of winter and a long offseason begins.. We not far from a division title, and a wild card spot is not out of the question if we beat the steelers.. I dont want to speculate what could happen next yr , should we keep Brady or Cassel... So much talk of putting in O connel, Cassel sucks, Dante culpepper ( how are those thoughts looking right now) .. Cassel has had 2 nice games, Steelers will bring a different challenge, better defense than Miami ..


Tom Brady is still the franchise,this is not Brady vs Bledsoe, Drew was not inspiring the team, he was struggling, and Brady put new life into the team.. Matt Cassel for all his hard work in practice and what abuse he took all camp and the beggining of the season, he is going to earn a nice pay day.. Now is he a hall of famer.. NO WAY, he is a nice story which the final chapter of the 2008 season has yet to be written..

But my guess where Josh Mcdaniels goes, Matt Cassel goes.. And if Notre Dame fires Charlie, Charlie could be back here.. But that is story to talk about in FEB / March not now..

Sean, I agree! Good post. We have 5 games left and it has been fun so far, let's just tag along for the ride and see where 2008 brings us. Not like last year (don't get me wrong that was great too) when the game was over after the first half. This year, even yesterday watching the Miami game, I found myself focusing on each play.

The next game will be a big one against the Steelers. I think this game will show, at least to me, how far along Cassel has come.

Not like last year (don't get me wrong that was great too) when the game was over after the first half. This year, even yesterday watching the Miami game, I found myself focusing on each play.

The next game will be a big one against the Steelers. I think this game will show, at least to me, how far along Cassel has come.

Cassel has nothing left to prove to me, IMO. I'm concerned about our defense.

I was upset with the defense in the game thread a bit, and it is getting frustrating with the third down defense which has been a problem all season long...

But as I thought about it, the Pats were not going to let that stupid Wild cat beat them, and make Pennington beat them, and I think that was the game plan.. I think we will be ok, I think we have gotten faster in the saftey position..

I don't think this is true. As I see it you constantly have to prove yourself in this league, each week.

I am concerned with the secondary, the run defense looks pretty good, but as Belichick says, there is always room for improvement...

Great sentiment that will fall on deaf ears here because "talking" about things isn't the dynamic that ruins seasons here at patsfans... It's the self absorbed attitudes of the people doing the talking...all the way from head in the sanders to the chicken littles to the gleeful defeatests to those who assumed you could talk rationally in the process of enjoying these rides.

It's been a season to remember so far, the good and bad included. It'll be a interesting final 5 games to say the least.

Hmmm, I wonder if Anthony Smith will say much this week?

This season is gravy for me. After Brady went down I wasn't expecting much.....this team has far exceeded my expectations and it actually has been fun watching Matt Cassel turn into a bonafide NFL QB right before our eyes.

I'm worried about the defense. We need talent in the secondary - no doubt. But sometimes I wonder if we need a new DC. Have you noticed that the Pats D has digressed under Pees' tutiledge.

It's been a fun season.

Not saying we'll get that far or anything, but I just can't help but think about IF the Pats were to make the Super Bowl and are going up against the Giants. This time us being the cinderella and them being the heavy favorites, complete reversal of last season. That would be something else.
