From ProJo:

“He’s a tough kid,” Pats coach Bill Belichick said. “Most of the time, he seems to manage to miss those solid blows. He gets them when they’re kind of glancing, or he squirts under them. But, every once in a while, they tag him.

“But he tends to bounce right back. That’s pretty impressive. He’s smaller than I am, and you know those hits have got to hurt. But he’s tough.”

“I just had the breath knocked out of me,” Welker said. “It’s like when you get slapped around by your older brother. You get back up and come back with a pool stick.”

Somehow I think he's talking from personal experience. :D

I laughed out loud. Awesome.

I like him because he isn't a bad lookin fella but I digress..

Reminded me of a quote about Pedroia I read once:

"He's gonna slide into second armed with a stepladder."

The mental images are funny.

Never went back at brother with a pool stick but I have with Chairs, Hasek, and a pencil (the tip is still in his arm). :D

How did you carry Dominik Hasek?

Welker is one of the most exceptional talents that I have seen play the game.....he is incredible.........!!!!

Haha what a stud. I seriously like him more and more every week... hes quickly becoming my 4th favorite Patriot of all time.

Welker is what all football players should be like. Tough, talented, no-nonsense, accountable, and dedicated to winning and being a great team mate.

I was thinking after the game today, how is there no nickname for the Welker/Moss tandem?

I think we're going to look back at these two and realize that they're probably the two best receivers ever to be on the same team at the same time. The NFL receptions leader and the record holder for TDs (currently 3rd, but one day).

What's funny is Jets fans think Wayne Chrebet (who I actually used to like) is better than Welker.

I heard a rumour that Chuck Norris is scared of Wes Welker.... that's how good he is.

What kind of stupid was Miami giving up Welker in restricted free agency? He would be very effective with Pennington tossing him the ball underneath.

Seriously, the best quote I've heard all year. BB literally found a diamond in the rough with this guy.

Hindsight is 20/20! They do have Camarillo though who looks pretty good too.

Given just how much he helps this offense, I'm not even sure it was a smart move at the time. [Yes, they got a second-rounder, which is more than most teams would have paid, but Welker's already given New England over 200 receptions, counting the playoffs.]

So, you leave me wondering who the top 3 are. I'm going to assume Brady 1, but 2 and 3?

I've said it before and I'll say it again...every team needs a crazy white wide receiver:)

SI has an article up with their top 10 WR tandems. Moss/Welker don't make their list. But that may be arbitrary, because Moss/Chris Carter do.

Rice/Taylor lead it.

I think you're overstating your case a little. :)
