Stuff like this from Tom you won't see or hear on ESPN,Only his flings with women and other negative stuff

Although the article's writer seems to slight a dig at Brady as if Tom is only doing this to get some retrobution out of this by signing some type of advertizing deal as a pitchman being the reason behind his generosity.

I didn't post the original article as posted from the herald as many of you refuse to click on anything Herald related so I used this article link instead

1,500 lap dances for underprivileged adults in Florida would have been a much cooler story.

Well I love Tom to death .... But a lap dance is not on the top of my list for something I would want from him ....maybe an autograph or even to guarantee another SB win next year, but a lap dance?... no thanks :)

Not even from Gisele ...I am happily married :singing:

i believe Tom went to Uganda last year. thats one of the few places he could go and no one knows who he is.
Listen folks, i know there are poor kids here but a kids worst day here is possibly the best day for under previleged kids in alot of the third world. That doesnt make it right but thats what it is. I for one are glad Tom remembered the kids he saw when he visited my homeland.
On behalf of all ugandans, Thanks Tom, your gift means more than you'll ever know. i know, i've been there.

He and his sister are doing great things, they deserve praise.

I'm having trouble with the concept of this non-profit juggling their board and why Brady could be conflicted.

They're giving stuff away, right? Why would they worry about competition and why would he stand to gain by a deal with a company that only gives stuff away?

Somethings should be taken at face value, this is a nice gesture by Tom.. no qualification needed.

Add this to those New England Patriots 19-0 SB XLII t-shirts that they got. We'll have an ever expanding fan base into the un-tapped Ugandan market. I can see it now. 2009 regular season game.... Patriots-Colts in Uganda.

That was nice of him they just need someone to teach them how to use them now.

While it is a wonderful act. A player donating less than 1% of his salary to charity is rarely national news. I am not surprised ESPN doesn't make this a breaking news and just the locals carry it.

Yet they show Tom and Gisele eating.

It's not just a donation of money though, he's given his time as well, and given the laptop program some notoriety by attaching his name to it. If Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie did this, we'd probably hear more about it.

Either way, good for Tom, says a lot about his character. If you've been to his main website recently, there's an update with a video of him talking about it.

thats better than buying a movie ticket for a homeless guy.

Any charity from any human being is a good act. Whether it's me, you or Tom Brady. The percent of income that someone donates to charity is irelevant to anyone or anything. Whether I donate 1% or 10%, it won't make me a good man or a bad man anymore than if I donate nothing.

There's been a lot of criminals (mafia?) who've donated a lot of money and they're ALWAYS bad people.

Thank you for not saying all those white guys look the same to us.

It's great to see a guy like Tom helping out people who do not have much going for them. His concern is well directed. Guys like him, Troy Brown & JeRod Cherry are assets to the species.

I don't think the snarky end of the article was directed at Tom. It was directed at the soap-opera-ish OLPC program itself.

The worst they'd say about him is that he was a dupe to overrate the program.

As for me -- I think it's a great move for him to make. Few things are more important than education -- indeed, probably none at all except ones that relate directly and severely to physical safety and health.

Say the laptops were 600 something bucks apiece. That's around a million dollars for 1,500 of them. Tom makes $100,000,000 a year?

Companies tie in pr moves to advertising programs all the time. It's nice, but this is not Tom taking his own cash and purchasing labtops to be sent to poor kids for nothing. He didn't pay a dime for those pc's. Pc World dontated those labtops, slapped Tom's name on the donation, and got a big time endorsement from a top QB in the NFL. It's that simple.

At least some kids got some pc's though.

They weren't $600, I guarantee it. You can get a barebones laptop from dell for less than $400, and I'm guess these are not as powerful and bought in bulk.

But they'll do the job, and it's amazing what a tool like this can mean for someone. This is a nice act by TB.

Honda donated the generators to keep them powered...............:idea2:
