I don't really agree with the premise of the poll. I think he will continue to progress as a quarterback over the years... and thus his "improvement" as you put it, won't end at any of these points.

There we go with the finite end game thinking of youthful naivete.

Has Brady's improvement ever ended? Wheres the option for "when he retires?"

This guy will keep on improving at a incredible rate and the world will be shocked.

ten years from now, life is a journey...

Probably not for another few seasons at least...

it doesn't......cassel's improvement will consume everything

he is keanu reeves in 'the day the earth stood still'

Matt Cassels improvement will end at the beginning of the end of days.

Hey,Lets not be so mean

At least its the first thread from him in a while that does not pertain to making a donation to the forum if the team or a player does this or that.

When Matt Cassel plays with consistency like Ben Roethlisberger.

Never I say never! He will pass for 529 yards and five touchdowns at age 87 and be wheeled directly from the field to his nursing home!

Never!

Um, he's showing solid improvement as a backup. I think the very conditions of this year are bringing out the best in some guys... I like the young guys at LB and I like Cassel's improvement. I like what I've seen of Ben Laden Green Levis. I could see them just missing the playoffs, and I could see them catching fire as well... it would be dumb to predict a super bowl, but the "giants" (no pun intended) of 2008 don't exactly strike fear in my heart (Tennessee, Pittsburgh, the Gintz.) It's wide open - Why not us?

All that said Cassel is showing a lot of capability out there, and if we see the same trendline through the end of the season, he is a starting QB in the NFL as soon as he is free to be (i.e., depends on franchising.)

I'll have a new "second favorite" team at that point, assuming no competition w/the Pats.

i have to be honest, i don't understand the question. i think if you asked any NFL starting QB, I think they'd tell you that they try to get better every game; at least that's what TB always said. The only assumption here is that the QB knows when it's time to retire and doesn't try to play past his "Use By" date.

So, on that sole assumption, my answer is: in his last NFL game.
