[Begin Rant]

You know on this board and elsewhere saturated in the NFL Sport media is 'Brady-less' Pats, no Harrison, no Thomas, no Maroney, Morris is not 100%...blah blah blah.

Big deal.

"So the Jets were all pumped up in beating New England, well the Patriots never had their QB, two stellar defensive players, a running game etc. etc."..."If Brady was playing the Patriots would be rolling"..."why are other teams pumped about beating a wounded Patriots squad"...

Big deal.

Brady is out, Thomas is out, Harrison is out, Maroney is out, can we all move along and check the excuses at the door. All that talk about "well they woulndn't have beat us IF..."

The bottom line is we are getting beat. Period.

We need to go out this Sunday and do the beating. Nobody in that lockerroom expects a star by the opponents win indicating all our stars were out.

I don't know, it just really rubs me the wrong way.

No excuses from here on out....

[/End Rant]

I second that. They're still paid, they still practice. My feeling is,

If the team sucks, no one is going to ***** they're just not going to pay attention realizing next year they'll be better.

However, this team has put itself in position to do more than that, thus steeper expectations. I don't care what anyone says I'm guilty as are all of us, everytime THIS team wins we get that optimistic feelings, that's why when they lose it's so miserable.

I don't think there is a player in the locker room making excuses. They and the coaching staff know that other teams have made more plays this year that have been game deciders. They just haven't gotten it done in a handful of games in a super competitive conference this year. No excuses, they are what their record says they are, right?

errrr........because it was the jets, and their only goal for the year was to beat the pats.......

watch as the jets return to their laughable ways as they get utterly stomped by the titans

To whom are you addressing this rant?

If it was a team like the Browns or Lions who lost all these players and would be 6-4, they would be getting pats (no pun intended) on the back. Given the Pats winning ways, most view 6-4 as the end of the world.

what does being paid have to do with anything. you can pay me, doesnt mean im going to be good. at some point, you need talent, you need playmakers. you dont want to complain, but you also have to be realistic.

there weren't excuses before. fans invent excuses

I've been saying this for a while.

These ARE the 2008 Patriots. Matt Cassel IS the Pats' 2008 QB. I think they're well aware of that. The Jets DID beat our 2008 Pats, and so have the Dolphins. The 2008 Pats ARE in a dogfight for a playoff berth.

It DOES count, or why the hell are we watching?

That said, they're 4-6 and in the thick of the division race... and for a game that goes in the "L" column, I liked a LOT of what I saw last Thursday night.

Injuries come into play for a statement like "I am proud of how far they've come WITH the injuries..."

But not in a statement like "Big deal, they beat us without our QB and our best safety," la la la.

A lot to like in that Jets game... and they have to build on that. I guarantee you that, plus what went wrong and needs fixing, is what's in their heads, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

(How many people think Belichick is like "Well, we lost a bunch of guys this year, so, whenever that happens, you have to realize your chances of success are lower, so guys go out there and play out the, um, string"?)

yeah I thought they looked good in the Jets game too. They also looked good against the COlts.

In all seriousness we DO have a good team this year. Cassel is performing great and we have hope for the playoffs.

I predict a strong showing in Miami. We are a real good football team this year. I honestly think we have a legitimate shot at the AFC Title game...

The team is better without Maroney, no need to include him on the "we'd be better if he was still playing" list.

He'll be competing for a job next year in training camp.

Tom Brady is a really good qb.
