So I just finished watching the BB press conference and someone asked if AT was going to be playing (it sounded like "this sunday" but may have been this season) and BB just smirked and said "we'll see" and walked off (it was the last question).

What I'm thinking is that if we beat Miami (convincingly, I hope) he keeps rehabbing to play in a cast in late December.

If we fall out of contention, I think he'll be IR'ed in favour of getting P-Squad guys on the field with a little bit of prep time for next years bloodbath.

A quick skim shows guys who don't have to be counted on to grab INT's (line-men, LB's) often play with casts.

What do you guys think? I wonder if we'll see Robertson play at all this year. Sounds like a good pass rushing option.

DBs play with casts too....Remember Hobbs played his second season with a cast on. Ironically probably his best season too.

I don't know about when or if he will come back. Your assesment seems good if we are in contention he comes back if not see ya next year.

But I do know that if we are going to make a serious playoff run we really need him. Not trying to overrate him more than other injured guys but I think as the number of IRed guys goes up the harder it is to sustain another one. We need Warren back, Seymour to be fine and AD to return.

I think that your assessment is pretty accurate. If we wind the next game and are still in it, AT comes back in mid December to provide some much needed stability. If we are out of contention, he's IR's in the next two weeks. There is no point in him coming back if we are out. And yes, we could sure use him.

Until he hits the IR, I think he is coming back.

It all depends on how bad the break is and what if any hardware they put in to repair it. If the break isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is based on the intial reports for him being put on IR, he may be back in a few weeks. I know when I had a plate put in my broken ankle, the doctor said that the plate made that area actually stronger than all the other places on the bone on the ankle even before the bone was completely healed. It could be the same with Thomas.

I remember several o-linemen from other teams only missing 2-3 weeks with broken legs.

I hope so. God knows we can use him in the pass rush.

Who is this AT? ;)

THIS is AT!

I would love to have AD back for the stretch run, but we need to get by Miami first! It's a good sign that he's not on IR yet, but even if he comes back it won't be for a while.

"AD" s been his nickname for a long time, maybe as far back as childhood; his middle name begins with D.

EDIT: I looked up his middle name- it's Donquail:eek:

I sure hope so, but I don't think so.

I would agree with you except that Belichick isn't usually willing to tie up a roster spot on a long shot of a return. Even for a guy like Thomas. So I think Belichick is pretty confident that Thomas will be back at some point.

Hasn't Alexander been dinged up almost all season though?

i really hope so; i would like to see him play late december if, like i believe, we will still be in the hunt for the play-offs

He's been banged up most of the year. He has the grand total of

one assisted tackle for the year. When Thomas got hurt, I was

surprised Alexander wasn't put on IR and Redd activated so the

Pats would have a backup at OLB.

That sounds right to me. Not saying I know a lot about broken arms, but many LBs have played with casts.

Oh my god... that's my middle name, too!

I personally like the idea of AD playing and using his cast as a club.
