What a contrast!

Felger says that Moss dogged it on 78 of 79 plays and was an embarrassment until the final play.

Belichick on WEEI says "to me, Moss was probably the most dominant player in the game for us ... because he took so much coverage with him and then, in the critical play of the game, made a play that - I don't know how many other receivers in the league could make that play."

Belichick praised Moss for working as hard as he did against the double coverage, noting that the Jets had to continue to double Randy, opening up opportunities for Gaffney, Aiken and others.

"Last night's game ... is why he's a captain of this football team. The player's respect him and he went out and did all he could ... to help out the team in other ways."

When Ordway noted that others had criticized Moss, Belichick responds (in his typical understated fashion) "I mean, we passed for 400 yards."

Is this a serious question?

Two things are generally true for me:

1) I'll believe Belichick over most anyone

2) I'll believe most anyone over Felger

This is like the perfect storm of no-brainer here :D

One is a hall of fame coach. The other has never played a down of football in his life. You come to your own conclusion.

When guys named Sam Aiken get wide open on plays you better believe it was for the reason that Moss was double-teamed and quite a bit last week- Without seeing the overall coverage I would not be surprised if the corner and both safeties were heading towards Moss's way against the Jets

Mangini certainly let it be known to his players and coaches that if his team were to lose , Moss would NOT be the reason (although he almost did)

A lot of coaches are willing to let Welker and guys like Aiken and Gaffney have more 'freedom' out there to avoid giving Moss any room to make plays - Moss is the most feared and respected WR in the league and it shows the way coaches set their defense up to stop him.

In other words,BB was correct

The question was intended to be sarcastic.

Just another example of the huge difference in perspective between the professional (coach) and the layman (sportswriter).

I have used Felger and Borges text for toilet paper before, no lie.

Isn't that redundant? I mean, it's already full of cr@p, right?

Ironically one of my criticisms of playcalling last season is that they were TOO focused on Moss - and he had no chance of breaking free for a must make pass at the end of the Super Bowl

Against the Jets, where the offense was much more balanced, he was able to get free enough to make the catch.

For all the criticisms we hear of Moss l like the more balanced approach much better.

Felger is a man who makes money on guessing about football... BB is a 3X Superbowl head coach, so guess who I believe..

I would much rather have Felger analyzing my players' performances. He's smarter than Bill. He knows more football than Bill. He definitely is a more complete judge of football talent than Bill. I know that Felger has no pre-conceived notions nor agendas about particular players and that he will always be objective and fair. What else is there to know and/or consider?

Felger has been hoping for a Moss meltdown for a while now.
He's a tool.

Nobody's mentioned that, besides the fact that Aiken and Watson were left wide open all night, Moss still managed to get so wide open a few times he was waving his hands like he was in the audience at a rap show, but Cassel misfired. (wave your hands in the ayuh like you just don't cayuh).

Lets see BB is a very intelligent and well educated man who understands the game of football better than anyone. Felger is a dipexcreta from the midwest who has a pedestrian understanding of the game. I'll go with BB.

BB is the best coach in the game and a guaranteed hall of famer.

Felger is a douchbag and should be in the hall of shame.

I like Mike Felger and he has come a long way but lets call him for what he is: He is a man who substitues insight and perspective which he lacks with bombast, hyperbole and muckraking. End of story the guy is not bad to listen to but when he says thing s like this he has no credibility because of his long history of wind baggery. He tries to fan the flames.
