This was a Big Game anyway you spin it...the Jets needed this win and so did the Patriots. We are now playing for our playoffs life sporting 4 AFC Losses we need to Defeat both Miami and Pittsburgh or else it's all over. We also lost the tie breaker with the Colts if we finish with the same record. I see wild card all the way because the Jets have a power puff Schedule the rest of the way if you minus Tennessee next week. I think the Jets after this win might be playing with some sort of confidence. Like i said before with the 4 AFC losses i think we are now playing for a Wild Card berth and we will have to win some games. Our Margin for error is very slim now especially against AFC opponents. I will say again looking at the Jets Schedule i see possibly one more Loss...they are playing some real terrible Teams after next week and i think Mangini knows it.

I disagree. I see Brett reverting to form and tossing TD's to the other team, and some of those remaining teams on the Jets schedule rising up to play spoiler.

I simply cannot see the Jets taking this division yet, because although they have won some games, they still are not USED to winning.

Brett will start taking chances, and when the pressure from the NY press piles on, he'll start making mistakes. Bank on it.

This game was the Jets Super Bowl.

The Pats are one game out of the division and at worst be tied for the Wild Card. They are not in playoff trouble right now. If they lose to the Dolphins next week, then they are in trouble.

We are not in trouble. We will have the playoff bye. I have nothing to base this on but blind faith in my team.

We're 6-4. Let's say we lose to Pittsburgh we can still be 11-5 which is a LOCK to make the playoffs. Another loss and we're 10-6. Very likely to make the playoffs.

We're fine, we just need to go 4-2 the rest of the way.

Pretty much. Like I said on another thread, they had to scratch and claw to eke out a win against a badly-depleted Patriots team. That will bother them as they will start to wonder what it will take to beat a fully-loaded team.

the indy win at pitt now looms large now . favre played good today but i wish we had a better pass rush . for the jets, only tenn is hard game left , then denver, SF,SEA and both bills and fins at home.

Yeah, the way I see it, the Pats have two more losses they can make.

I still think even in the win, this game takes more wind out of the Jets' sails than the Pats. They put so much effort into this win, they are bound for a letdown next week.

Exactly all is not lost Patriot fans stop freaking out like little girls.

You seriously saw a Jester team that is division ready? The Pats had to shoot their toes off in all three phases of the game to help the Jesters win this game. The Pats are having too many mental mistakes, and it's not just the young guys with limited playing time going through going pains though that is a factor.

A downer for sure, but let's give some love to the kids Cassel, Mayo, Guyton, Woods, Wilhite...they made mistakes, but they also made plays. Webster, Vrabes, Wright, Neal & Kaczur (for not getting their names called) done good. Mental mistakes cost this game, in all three phases. One less mental mistake and the Jesters don't get a coin toss. BB has some extra time to rest the team and work on correcting some of the brain flatulence - this NE team is not done by a long shot and NY's 'A' game needed help to finish. Don't crown them yet.

Yeah, and we effortlessly cameback by 18 and sent the game into overtime?

With that logic we're in just as much trouble.

Also I wouldn't define "fine" as needing to win 4 out of our next 6 games.

Lucky for them, there is only one fully loaded team in the league, which is Tennessee, and when you look at their lack of offense (minus last week), one could argue they aren't even fully loaded.
Indy? Harrison is old, defense is bad, Addai is beat up.
Pitt? Blew two games in three weeks vs. NYG and Indy.
Denver? We don't even need to discuss how much of a fraud that team is.
The fact is, 11-5 WILL make the playoffs, whether it be the wild card or the division. They play one team that people might consider better than them (Pitt), and they are slipping badly. There are only two games that should even be in question, and they are home vs. Pitt and home vs. Arizona. Miami on the road has been a bugaboo for years, but after the shellacking they took in week 3, it'd be a shock to see them lose to the same team twice in a year, especially when it's a team that is no better than average.
They are still in good shape. 10-6 will be decided by tiebreakers, so even if they lose a game they shouldn't, they still have a chance. I really see 10-6 as worst case scenario, and they still have a shot there.
Either way, they need to execute and win the games they should, and no more defensive collapses. It should be interesting.

on the other hand it might boost their confidence and play. remains to be seen. with 10-6 it will be hard for the pats since even miami has a powerpuff schedule and if SD starts to win then we are competing with them and the colts for the WC.

Patriots aren't making the playoffs.

This was the most important game of the season.

i think this game will give the coaching staff a lot more confidence in cassells throwing game..now we can actually start scoring more probably so dont close the window yet..we have a pretty good chance of makin the playoffs if we go atleast 4-2 in the last 6

i think the colts could surprise a few....and this game helps them

If we can somehow (and that's a huge if) win the next two games then I think this team can still win the division and certainly be a playoff team.

That would be quite the task though.

Losing this game will likely have dire consequences for the division and losses to Indy and the Chargers could have dire consequences for a wildcard. Chargers hopefully will take the division, as we have the head to head advantage over Denver.

The next two games are absolutely crucial to playoff hopes. A loss to either Miami or Pitt makes playoff hopes grim at best.

Jets remaining schedule is an absolute cakewalk in comparison to the Pats slate.

If the 2 losses are to AFC teams, then I doubt a 10-6 Patriots team will make the playoffs because they will probably lose out on tiebreakers.
