Disappointing game, but Mayo looked absolutely nasty all night long.

Mayo is awesome and Guyton is pretty darn good for a rookie himself.

Somebody is going to need 15 picks to take DROTY away from him now

He was unreal. I know he's been making a lot of tackles. But, I don't
recall him having that many jarring hits. He brought it tonight. Too bad
not many others on defense did.

Mayo sure looks like a stud. As a rookie he'll make mistakes but it's obvious as can be that the guy is a superstar in the making.

Great news in a season I'd just as soon forget.

We're a great cb away from an elite defense ::cough:: Samuel ::cough::

The one thing that went through my head was wow, I'm glad one guy actually wants to win this game.

If Meriweather wanted to win like Mayo wanted to win, maybe he makes that stop on 3rd and 15 and the Pats get the ball back.

I agree Mayo was BEAST tonight, but you cant expect Meriweather to stop Keller on that. That was a blown coverage and someones part and you cant expect Meriweather to completely stop a TE.

yep, IM about to order my mayo jersey now.

20 tackles for Jerod. That takes him to second on the tackles list. If you just coiunted solo tackles, his 16 are good enough to give him joint first place.

Guys, we've got a live one on our hands.

Ironic that he was the 10th pick in the draft. We are getting top 3 value out of him. Rookie of the year if he keeps it up.

Been watching Samuel in Philly? I have, he's hardly playing at an elite level. Solid player that played above his head in this defense. We could sure use him, but not for the ridiculous dollars Philly paid. Next year, the secondary should come together a bit better, with all the run the young guys are getting. They're improving, and the talent is there.

I think the most disapointing thing about getting Mayo is that I say Vernon Gholston on the sidelines while the Jets' defense was on the field and was thinking to myself, "Damn, I wish we had him instead of Mayo."

Did the guy even dress tonight?

Guy has to be dead tired.

He probably ran 5 miles on the field today, most of them sprinting.

You have to take into account that it is almost guaranteed that any player coming out of the Patriots will more than likely just suck balls on another team. I dont why it is but it happens like 90% of the time... some recent examples: Branch, Dillon, Samuel, Stallworth, Wilson etc. There are some exceptions of course like Milloy, whos doing pretty well in Atlanta.

Just to chime in, yes; Mayo is an absolute monster. Also, Guyton and Woods had very good games.

With Mayo on the team I think our LB corp will be solid for a long time. And to think, some people didn't like that draft pick...

This is why people who rag on the defense drive me nuts. We have TONS of talent and speed on defense, but we have been dealing with a ton of injuries and are naturally transitioning from a bend don't break style that was meant to go along with the ridiculous offense of last year, to an aggressive pass rush type defense. It's not supposed to be perfect, but the defense has been getting better and better lately, with Mayo playing the best game yet tonight, along with other pleasant surprises in Guyton and Woods and to a lesser extent Wilhite and Merriweather.

When it happens that many times, it's a trend. They are system players.
