Defense fails again!

I know the offense blew it a good 3 times in the 3rd quarter, but these 3rd and long failures are getting to be a habit.

Dean Pees needs to go. I really think he is the problem.

And I thought Dom Capers was our secondary coach? Why doesn't he put "Cover people like the tight end behind the first down marker on 3rd and long" into his playbook? Kevin Boss in the SB, Dustin Miller tonight, and Dallas Clark every single time we play the Colts is killing us.

I think the players in there are fine...it's the gameplan.

What the **** is wrong with you? the Offense had two fumbles and a botched snap that lost them like thirty yards and you blame the defense for this? Do you realize how many injuries we had on D?
You are right about the other mistakes. Clearly. But time and time again we can't make the stop when we need to. Our defense ISN'T good enough. Thomas and Warren would have been nice but it's happened with them too.

They had a chance to stop them in overtime with a third and 15. They let the Jets walk right down the field.

Yeah cuz you know, most healthy defenses usually shut it down in OT, let alone ones that are riddled with injuries. Don't blame the offense though, only two fumbles and a turnover on downs in the red zone. This defense played WELL beyond their ability tonight, if you don't understand that find another team.

You can blame Belicheck for the D problems on 3rd down. He dictates a bend but don't break, keep them in front of you...etc.

We rushed 3....after the rush was keeping him bottled up in the second half.

There was a blown coverage, but the Defensive call was in keeping with BB over the entire run. They just played exceptionally bad on that 3rd and long instead of just bad.

That's the thing about football. Yes, the D blew it, but it's not like they are the sole cause of the loss.

Yes they are. 3rd and 15 with the game on the line and they FAIL. Are you shocked? I'm not, this team was not been able to stop a third and long in over two years.

I love how putting pressure on the qb gets the D into position for a 3rd & 15, then inexplicably they rush 3 or 4, and give the QB enough time to get a drink, eat a ham sammich, and complete an easy pass for the 1st down.

It seems to happen all the friggen time! Call a decent friggen play you dumbasses!

We can say whatever we want, but Cassel played his arse off tonight. Sure his timing was off, and he missed Moss and was behind or way ahead of some receivers... but he had college type numbers with all those yards.

The D played a solid second half until it counted most, and I put some of the blame on the pathetic arse calls on the downs they needed stops on.

Let's face it, the Pats have a long road ahead to try and win the division, and honestly it won't look great for the WC since we'd lose tiebreakers to SD & Indy thus far.

Don't forget our god-damn awful kick coverage. Gave up a td. And, great field
position in the first half.

Um, Dean Pees...CAN SOMEONE COVER THE FREAKING ROOKIE TIGHT END...HOW ABOUT SMACKING HIM OFF THE LINE...GOD d%#*[email protected] THE FECK!!!!!!!

The defenses made multiple stops tonight, and the offense threw them away. Just because it's 3rd and 15 and not 3rd and 10 in OT doesn't mean that the defense is just automatically going to stop them.

Find another team? Who do some of you people think you are. Stop telling poeple to find another team, or acting like you are some superfan. You are some guy sitting at home, acting like you can tell people who they can root for. FAIL.

Do you realize how long the defense was out on the field fo r?I ******* hate you. DIE. thats the spirit

You need to calm down, guy. You are the typical internet tough guy, who talks a bunch of crap, because in real life you are a little wimp.

The D sucks, deal with it.
I mean.... that's ironic. I'm just saying.:D

I find it particularly painful to see us making the mistakes this year that other teams usually make against us. The blown assignment in OT on 3rd and 15 and did anyone notice Oneil looking at the sideline when the ball was snapped that went to Coles for a 1st down.
Mental mistakes hurt us dearly.

So now you use the injury card huh?

Another thing...maybe we WANT to put friggin pressure on the QB??? THAT maybe a good thing...

I wonder if some of these people even watched the frigging game.

Whats the ratio of plays that are completed when it's 3rd and 15? Would you like to bet its under 10%?

3rd and 15! Failed in '06 title game, failed in superbowl and failed again. It makes me sick to see the defense fold when it matters most.

However, I will say Cassel is the man. I will eat crow on that.

ONE player screws it up and you blame the entire defense?

I know but it wasn't even a good play it was total non coverage. Keller ran 15 yards untouched and had no-one around him. A good play on offense, I would tip my cap. That play deserves criticism.
