I'm going to start thinking Super Bowl.

Pats aren't going to lose many games on coaching, so if they do win this you're looking at what should be an 8-2 team. Everyone in the AFC is beatable and this is basically a playoff game. I don't think the Jets would be more up for this if it was the AFC championship. If the Pats can handle business... I'm nervous, and there is definitely the potential for things to go badly, but if they do win I'm going to stop thinking that just making the playoffs is the goal here and start thinking a little bigger.

(I want this one bad. So bad.)

we all thought 3-0 after being 2-0 and beating the jets the first time....just wait ...

I'm not saying it will happen I'm saying I'm going to stop feeling ridiculous when I contemplate it. If they can beat a peaking team on a few days rest after playing the division leader four days ago in a huge rivalry on national TV, they're legit. That's all. It's no longer about exceeding expectations, it's about thinking that they're contenders in the AFC. The Jets are going to come ready to play, I won't be surprised if they win. It's their time. If the Pats pull it out it's by far their biggest win of the season. They gotta figure out how to f*ckin score tonight.

I would rather the Pats stay under the radar.

In a way I wish they were more 4-4 or some mediocre record and then get hot late, so no one notices.

Being the underdog is way better than being the recognized favorite.

*cough* Titans *cough*

If the Pats can win the next three games against AFC rivals (Jets, Dolphins and Steelers), many people will start believing the Pats can contend for the AFC. However, the Titans remind me of the Steelers in the '01 season. They can run the ball, play good defense and has a QB that can manage games. If the Pats can make it to the AFC title game against the Titans, the Titans will fold under pressure like the Steelers did in '01-'02 season.

The Pats gameplan will be obvious to everyone: Make Kerry Collins beat you passing.

I'd like to take those chances.

Point being, hopefully we can start having these conversations at about 11:30 tonight.

Wish I could share that kind of optimism

IMO This game is not as big or huge for the playoff picture as some think,While I tihnk the winner has the edge for the division, even if the Jets win Favre is too erratic for people to say they have the division wrapped up - Its not like the sky will have fallen on the East if the Jets win because I can see the Jets losing a few down the road and NE can certainly recover even if they do lose.

Now Miami could, by some miracle from Parcells and Sporano be THE team to watch out for as the AFC East danger - Their final remaining opponents total a .375 winning perfecentage - It may be the easiest road to January in NFL history with SO many bad teams for them coming up.

Buffalo is the team most in trouble of all 4 east teams

Hmm, do I record the game and watch it in the morning before work? Or do I go to bed now, get a couple of hours zzz's and get up to watch it at 1 am. Cant decide

I want to win tonight because I hate the jets and all their idiot fans. I really hate the jets and with Lord Farvrrre now on the team, I hate them even more. If the unthinkable does happen and we lose, it would be great to meet them in the playoffs and crush their dreams then. The Jets are desperate to beat us tonight to show that they have arrived as a franchise. We on the other hand, as a franchise, arrived a long time ago.
In the end, its all about crushing their dreams!
Oh yeah, and getting the King Rat fired!
