....Just few brief pregame thoughts.

1. When you think of draft pick you usually think about how successful the team is with their first day picks, but I find it quite telling that the Pats will we STARTING 4 guys who were UDFAs. 3 of their own, in BJGE, Pierre Woods, and Steven Neal, while adding Wes Welker, who was an UDFA of the Dolphins. I don't think you'll find another team, especially a team with a winning record STARTING 4 fomer UDFA's

2. Has the by play between the 2 HC's this week make you feel ever STRONGER that the Pats will have a DISTINCT advantage in coaching?

3. The adding of Calvin Pace and Kris Jenkins has VASTLY improved the Jets defense. That are among the leaders in defense against the run AND sacks. That's a great combination. Jenkins has been a game changer as far as what little I've seen and heard, while Pace is their version of AThomas. Rather expensive, but seemingly worth it.

4. I need to see Randy Moss ELEVATE his game this Thursday. Revis is one of the best CBs in the conference and I think just making the catches that he SHOULD make isn't going to be enough. Moss hasn't make one of those stand up and shake your head highlight catches he so routinely made last year. In fact, when I think about it, he's been pretty ordinary. Not bad, just not elite. Randy HAS TO make some of those real TOUGH catches if the Pats want to win this week

5. Like the Colts game I'm not real confident. As I mentioned the Jets front seven has shut down most of the running attacks they've faced and they they IIRC lead the league in sacks, so It doesn't bode well for our injury depleted offense.

6. OTOH, since the 96 superbowl, the Pats have pretty much OWNED Bret Farve. Hopefully he can't help himself and gilves us the 2 turnovers we will need to win this game.

7. I really hope that the fans at the game REALLY become part of it. Having a loud homefield advantage will be critical in constricting the Jets offense. I just hope that a little rain doesn't EMPTY the red seats.

8. If the Pats do lose, we will all go on to the next game fully expecting our team to make the Playoffs. HOWEVER if the Jets lose, I think their fans will have to go on suicide watch. :D

Our O-Line has been excellent the last two weeks and the Bills were (I believe) a top 10 Run D. One of those UDFA's got 105 yards and a TD.

I think we'll do pretty well in that respect.

Could you expand on #2?

#8 You haven't heard? We are already on suicide watch.:)

First, the Pats arguably outplayed the Colts and if it wasn't for some stupid mistakes by Belichick, Dave Thomas, and Jabbar Gaffney; the Pats probably would have won that game.

Second, people were saying how Freeney and Mathis were going to sack Cassel. They barely got close.

Third, although the Jets run defense is solid, they really haven't been challenged in over a month except with Oakland who ran all over them. They were lucky enough to face the Bills with Marshawn Lynch out for three quarters, the Rams without Stephen Jackson, and the Chiefs without Larry Johnson. I am not saying they are a bad run defense or anything, but the Pats shutdown the Bills running offense with Lynch in the line up,.

Fourth, the Pats have the seventh ranked rushing attack in the league. Ok, some of the defenses they have faced aren't the best either, but their running offense is no slouch and I think the o-line is the healthiest it has been all year.

I share your sentiments on Randy Moss ken, being one of his Biggest fans i am somewhat dissapointed by his play with Matt Cassel. Randy have dropped quite a few for Matt Cassel which is very un-Moss like. I think two Deep coverage is really begining to fraustrate Moss. It's the only coverage that keeps him in check...i exepect to see a full dosage of Two Deep coverage on Moss Tomorrow Night. Mangini will not make Moss beat him. McDaniels must get creative if he wants to get Moss involved in the action and that's my motioning him across the formation. Motion should really confuse the Jets alignment and force some match-ups in our favor. Our secondary Receivers like Jabar Gaffney and sure hands Sam Aiken probably will have to play a key role because of our No-Dimension TE's. The Pats might have to spread em out some if the Jets are loading up on the Run.

We're literally sixteen yards behind Tennessee so we'll be sixth for a couple of says anyway.

What happened with Stephen Neal leaving the field against the Bills?

I see he's questionable for tomorrow night.

To me, Neal is the greatest UDFA story of all...doesn't play a snap of college football (albeit an awesome collegiate wrestler)...is a total project for the pats..turn him into a starter on multiple superbowl teams. Pretty impressive.

I didn't realize parrots knew how to type, too.

In addition to both of them blocking well, Ben Watson has 11 receptions for 91 yards (8.3 AVG) and Wendy has 9 receptions for 93 yards (10.3 AVG). You think TE's who are blocking reasonably well and averaging a first down per catch are no dimensional? Sheesh. Some people can simply not be pleased.

Stephen Neal left the game with some sort of Knee injury atleast it doesn't sound too serious. Man our Right Side plays so good when he's in there.

IIRC, the Jets traded two picks for the pick that became Robertson. One of those traded picks was used on Pace. ;)

By the Cardinals.

If I'm right.

And I see a whole lot of people claiming getting Kaczur back in there was big, too. Where did the "LeVoir 4-EVAH Coalition" go?

I am from the old school that believes a TE who can Catch is worth more than one who Blocks. Call me crazy but i long for the Days of Ben Coates it's been that long since the Patriots had a TE that actually threatened a Defense. P.S. i still have a little hope that Dave Thomas might become atleast a half decent receiving TE. JSn sorry but based on how High BB Drafted our last Three TE's he could have gotten similar Players that did the same things Graham and Watson do on Day 2.

Graham? Did you get your time machine working? ;)

I hesitate to mention this, but here goes.

The Pats are 7th in the league in total rushing yards, not the 7th ranked rushing team.

The Ravens are listed at #3 on NFL.com with 1352 yards, but they only have a avg. of 3.9 yards per rush, but they have rushed more times 343 then any other team

The Pats have 290 rush attempts for 1197 yards and an avg. of 4.1 yards per rush.

This tells me the Pats are better at running the ball then the #3 Ravens.

Giants are best with an avg 5.0 per carry and 3 other teams avg 4.6 for the 2nd highest yards per carry.

Care to guess what the Jets per carry avg. is

Before or after they played no-one on Sunday?

Jets play the same teams as the Pats - Colts and Pitt.

I guess I was too subtle. I was referring to the Rams mailed in performance.

I already discounted the Pats running game a bit, but even you have to admit it is the best running game the Jets have faced in a while.

BTW, the Pats' YPC dropped drastically against the Bills because they were basically playing keep away from the Bills in that game and had a lot of short distance runs at the end of the game making the YPC that game be 3.3.

This game's going to be a repeat of last Sunday. 20-10 Pats.

The last decent running team the Jets played were the Raiders, at least they ran well on the Jets for 150 yards or so.
