I did not find the article humerous. If the Jets were to go from 4-12 to a play off birth, that would make me thing the GM is doing his job.

what about the atlanta gm ? what about titans ? giants. ? so many in line really before considering the jets . its just because of nyc and favre that he is being mentioned not because of any of the other acquisitions .

Re: clayton:Mike Tannenbaum would become a favorite for executive of yr

I look at it in reverse. If he spends all that money, including trading for Favre and the Patriots lose Brady and still beat The Jest twice (I said IF, this is hypothetical) then he should be fired or at least looked at as a failure.

i have to agree.i mean they need brady ,harrison, maroney to be out to tie with the record after 10 games. they should be the best team in the league with all the money and 'star' power. they might end up getting hot and winning it all , who knows but this game doesnt define tannenbaum.

right now, the FO of the dolphins is miles ahead....they are achieving what the jets are doing without doling out 100M in guarantees

right now, the long-term prospects of the dolphins are much better than the jets..........the jets have basically built a 2 year deal.........

Ahhhh. OK I get it, good points.

Very fitting name. The Jets obtained two players that are already starters and impact players in TE Dustin Keller and CB Dwight Lowery. Know your enemy :) Gholston is a trainwreck though, agree on that.

Jenkins = beast, Pace= good signing, got Favre and convinced him to come to NY, drafted Keller and Lowery, signed Tony Richardson who has been a great blocker and Faneca who have done wonders for our run game. All this and possibly turn a 4-12 team around to a team which would be 7-3 after a win vs the Pats and the possible 2 seed in the AFC. Terrible job Mike T:rolleyes:

lowery has been benched, and keller was a first round pick and has a grand total of 12 catches

you maybe you need to pull your head out of you-know-where before you babble about what is fitting

Lowery has started every game this year.

Kellar has seen a lot of game time and is a TE, you would not expect him to have much better stats, least not me.

How many receptions does the Pat TE's have?

Ghoulston has been a huge disapointment, but he is a rookie and he could still turn it around.

If I voted for executive of the year, I would vote for Parcells and company or Thomas Dimitroff in Atlanta over Tannenbaum in a second. Both Miami and Atlanta went from the two worst teams to legitimate playoff contenders in week 11.

I give Tannebaum mixed reviews on his offseason moves. He gets an A+ for Kris Jenkins. He gets a very good grade for Pace. I think Faneca was an overrated move, but he is playing decent enough. Woody is way overpaid too, but decent enough. I think the Favre move was a bad one in that he is turning the ball over too much, Pennington is playing his best football in years, and the Jets seem to be moving to a ball control offense which suits Pennington's style more than Favre's.

I still am not as impressed with the Jets as others. They struggled their way through a lot of bad teams and then beat up on the Rams. Let's see how they do over the rest of the season with the Pats, Titans, Broncos (they most likely get into a shoot out in that game and I wonder how Favre does in that scenario), two separate west coast trips in a three week span, and then have the Dolphins at the end of the season. I think the second half of their season is tougher than the first.

coulda sworn lowery was benched.....my bad......

but keller's stats are padded by one blowout game..........I've watched a few games of the jets and am not impressed......

either way, the draft skills of the jets are not what you would call exec-of-the-year material

anyone who goes out and spends 100M+ in guarantees should expect a vast improvement...... if anyone gets the award, its the guy opening his wallet

FOR WHO? Lowery started every game so im not sure who told you that. Keller was behind two TE's and was not used in the passing game early. He is more of a force now

I won't argue with any of that.

I'm not saying that keller isn't going to be good, but the jets had 2 first round picks this year and I dont believe they are even getting close to that quality out of them...........as for gholston, it will be interesting to see now that adalius thomas is out whether the pats get vince redd onto the field......small school guy who is bigger (6'6"/270) and faster (sub 4.6) than gholston.......and an undrafted free agent rookie.......and why not? the pats already have a couple UDFA rookies out there (green-ellis, guyton) playing well

To be fair TE/WR is a position where immediate production isnt the norm. There is a reason why they say it takes until yr 3 for the light switch to turn on. That said he has shown flashes in the passing game. He can stretch the field, he has solid hands and he has the athleticism to pose matchup issues.

So nothing at all to do with the schedule either?

He's done a good job, but I wouldn;t be looking in his direction for the award. I'd be looking right at Dimitroff.

agreed but Mike T has done a good job is my only point. I think its not fair to just credit all there success to schedule when they beat quality teams such as the phins, bills n cards
