Troy will always be my favorite Patriot and on Thursday night he will be honored. I would like to start honoring him here now and throughout the week with stories, videos and pics.

Here are some of my favorite Troy Brown moments in no particular order.
1. The countless number of times Brady threw it to Brown over the middle on 3rd down for a 1st down, Brown always received a vicious hit but he always held onto the ball and he always got up with a smile on his face. He was fearless and the most dependable receiver we ever had, tough as nails, great hands but most importantly always found a way to get open.
2. All of his game changing punt returns, there were so many. I have never been so pumped as i was right before Troy Brown was going to take a punt upfield.
3. When he turned down being a Saint then a Jet, he is a PURE PATRIOT FOREVER!
4. Punt return for a TD against Pittsburgh in the AFCC game.
5. Stripping McCree in SD playoff game after Brady threw a game ending/season ending INT or so we thought.
6. Playing defense, playing well and getting 3 INT's, one against Bledsoe.
7. All his commercials.
8. 81 yard bomb for a TD in Miami to win in OT.
9. Big catch on final drive in Rams Superbowl to help set up winning FG.
10. Blocked punt and lateral in AFCC game against Pittsburgh.
11. 101 catches for 1199 yards in 2001.
12. 252 career punt returns for over 2600 yards and a career avg. of 10.4 yards per PR!
13. Holding Donald Driver to one catch as a DB.
14. His catch on his back on 3rd down against the Giants to help the Patriots get to 11-5 and a bye.
15. Finished his career as the Patriots’ Patriots all-time leading receiver with 557 career receptions. He placed second on the franchise’s receiving yardage list with 6,366 yards. Became the first Patriot in club history to record three 80-catch seasons (97, 2002; 101, 2001; 83, 2000).
16. When he lined up as a QB in a preseason games.
17. I still get to see Troy on mohegan sun sports talk every week to give postgame analysis.
18. Big catch to help win SB 38 with a broken nose suffered early in the game.
19. Is the Patriots all-time leading receiver in the postseason with 58 catches in 20 playoff games. His 694 career receiving yards in the playoffs also rank first in franchise history.
20. The day he enters the Patriots Hall of Fame.
21. Played in 192 games during his 15-year Patriots career, placing him fourth on the team’s all-time games played list.
'' If you love football so much why did you retire? [Asked by his son]
Brown: It’s something that’s out of my control. I would love to keep playing but there comes a time when the man upstairs called God, you can’t out run him as much as you try to and want to. He just catches up to you and tells you that you’re 37 years old. You’re knee is supposed to be hurting. You’re hip is not in great shape. You can’t run as fast as you used to. There’s a bunch of 22-year-old guys out there that are taking your place. I’m no longer 22 and in this game. There are very few places for guys that are 37 years old. Therefore, you have to move on and create other goals and things to achieve and you try to push on and achieve those things. It’s a sad day for me too. I saw you out there crying for me and I love you and it’s going to be ok. Daddy’s still going to be around football and he still loves football. If you want to play football he’ll come watch you play and teach you how to play too. As long as you don’t get mad at him when I coach you too hard and when I get on you too hard. That’s just a part of the game. You get older and you’re not able to keep up as well as you used to.
Therefore you have to leave the game. I’ve got more time too sit down and watch it with you, whenever you want to. That’s what happens. ''
