Yeah but the afc is a joke and the patriots are the division leader and have a very talented team with championship experience.this wouldn't suprise me if Cassel keeps improving like he is (although I'm far from the 'lets franchise him' crowd).
However, I think the D (esp the front 7) also would need to improve for this to happen (they have the talent to, but they're not playing like the 2000 - 04 dominance level)
I share your sentiment. For some reason or another, most things conspired our way last year, an immovable object for 18 games. The only thing giving me hope for this year's team is last year's Giants, oddly enough. I'm not scared of any team because the team that was unbeatable (us last year) actually lost. We could win it, or not, we'll see.

This year, things have conspired against us. It's a return to the Patriots of old. Win games through pound and ground. Win games through substance, not style. Win games through the face of adversity.
Will we win the superbowl? I don't know. Will we make the playoffs? I don't know. Are we the best coached team and organisation in the NFL. Yes we are.
I ache for our full strength team, yet I can't help but immerse myself in the plots of this season.
Week by week we will slowly get our answer.
I predicted after week 1, Cassel would be SB MVP. I am sticking with it.
Sweet, lets plan the parade.
Not even close. The D is not sb caliber, period.
