These injuries suck. I hope Morris will be back. Looks like Jordan might as well have been placed on IR this year. Dude has a really messed up calf.

You'd think he'd have been IR'd by now if they thought it was ... I hope anyway. It's just a break, so there is always the chance he mans up and plays with a cast in the playoffs. That would be pretty bad ass if he did.

I'm inclined to think they'll just take Jordan's good calf and Crable's good shin and make AD a new arm.

I had the same response.

Anyhow, as Belisarius IMed me days ago -- when it comes to guys being put on the IR, where there's smoke there's almost always fire.

I hope AD is one of the rare exceptions.

Calf injuries are tricky and tend to linger, in addition players typically try to come back too quickly from them and tend to reaggravate their injury.

Maybe they don't want to put AD on the IR cause he could comeback for the playoffs. If it's a clean break it's a month to heal and a month of rehab 2 months which would put him back right at the start of the playoffs.

Why risk not having him when he could be back

Because, sometimes, that roster spot can be put to better use.

Let's assume his arm injury is a fracture as reported, depending on the severity he very well may be able to play with a cast or the rehab time may look like a better option then freeing up the roster spot. I'd imagine there is swelling and they may want to take some additional time to assess their options - it's not as if the short week really gives them any time to make a move outside the organization. So...

1. Adalius is headed to IR, but BB is forcing the Jesters to game plan as if he might be playing...
2. The short week is affecting the decision cycle and BB is letting things slide to review during the long break before the Miami game...
3. Adalius may be able to return and the trainers are being allowed some time to see if they can get him ready to play again this season before the roster spot is needed...
4. The final medical assessment has not been completed and BB doesn't have the information needed to make a long term decision.
