Not that his arrival would be any kind of big news, but he is a warm veteran body with some knowledge of the system.
I don't think Seau is returning. I think he would only come back if he feels he has a legit shot at a title. The 2008 Patriots don't feel like a sure enough shot. I think the team would take him back in a reduced role if Thomas goes to IR if he could pass a physical.
I don't Colvin would be the right fit either. It he can't make the Texans, he's not making the Patriots. There are plenty of other teams that have passed him up (San Diego, Jets, San Fran, Dallas would all have been good system fits). I think he's done. It's sad, but I don't see him playing again.
Hobson looked out of place at ILB in camp and preseason, but he is a natural OLB, maybe he'd be a better fit? At least he'd be an experienced body that can spell Vrabel and Woods. I doubt he'd be worse than Alexander.
