Me and my friends were talking pats over email and one of my friends was whining about the superbowl and how he cant get into it this year because of it and because BRady went down. This was my reply I am posting it on here because I know a lot of you agree with me:

"you are completely missing the point. We all know the Superbowl sucked but you have to get over it.

THis year is proving that the Patriots dynasty is about more than just stumbling on the greatest QB in NFL history in the 6th round of the 2000 draft and winning. If the Patritos go 10-6 or 11-5 this year with no TB, with their top 3 RB's down, No Rodney Harrison, No AD for half the year apparently, losing Stallworth and Samuel and playing with a beat up o line for the first 7 or 8 games it just validates why the Patriots are a true dynasty: Because they have a system that relies on teamwork, intelligence, selflessness, toughness and resilience and also have the Greatest coach in the history of the game. This year is proving that the much discussed Patriot Way is a real thing and not just the byproduct of having the greatest QB ever."

Thoughts?

Preach on......You state it so well.

Funny but we still are proving to the world what this team is made of. You would think that 3 titles and a 18-0 would have done that but people just don't get it. This team is a monster that feeds on teamwork, resilancy, adversity, and any good football team that wants to bring it.

I think you and your friends are arguing over something that can't be won in an argument.

Suppose, for a moment, you and a friend (GF/Wife/Mom/Dad/etc) were involved in an incident, and both of your feelings were hurt. You say you're upset. They say s/he is upset. Well you both are right, and the two are not mutually exclusive.

You love this season because of the reasons you stated. Your friend is not into the season for reasons he stated. You are both right and the two are not mutually exclusive.

In my opinion, every season in which your team is competitive is great, the year's in which they are not are still entertaining (unless you're the Lions, where they are just business as usual), and the year's where you win it all are worth every year that you don't.

I am a fan of teams ahead of players. Tom Brady is great, and I love watching him play, but I don't feel any less excited about this team without him, because we're still playing football. With our without TB, and with or without a competitive team we get to see:

- Young players develop and improve.
- Game plans unfold (or fail to do so) based on JAG replacements.
- Winning games we probably shouldn't, and not winning games we probably should.
- Veterans finding ways to defy age.

All of those things are interesting to me, in one way or another. Some of them sting when they don't go our way, but if we always won every game, we'd eventually lose interest anyway. Who wants to watch a competition when they already know the outcome? Winning feels all the better when you have the feeling of losing to compare it to, and struggles this year put last year's 18-0 accomplishment into perspective.

Like others have said, I root for the laundry.

Brady is likely the greatest QB to ever play (IMHO), but he's not playing by himself. He's on part of 11 on the offense, and they make up only 1/3 of the team.

I've been a fan since '72, and I'll continue to root for the Patriots until I'm dead. Doesn't matter who is wearing the numbers, they are our team, our boys, so you support them.

That's what fans do.

The point is not to change anyones opinion or decide right vs wrong but I just thought some people would appreciate the reply because IMO this year is really shwoing what this team is made of.
