Belichick's Best Coaching Ever?

This article ponders the question in the Title of this thread.

Winners and losers: Belichick works magic - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

What do YOU think?

Patchwork Secondary, QB that never started a game, FA Running Back, Loss of a HOF QB, Harrison out and all of the other injuries - and we are 6-3.

Pretty amazing stuff, you can say what you want about the schedule, but look at the teams we have lost to and then look at who those teams have beat or played to the wire. This is the NFL, there are no gimmies.

Bill is working some magic here. It's fun to watch.

Very well said Scottie. And now, we get to play without A. Thomas (if reports are true). The injuries keep mounting, but the team is playing very well. Now Man-Rat and Company come to town, so let's hope the Pats are 7 and 3 afterwards.

I will agree with this up to a point. BB gets 'em ready to play for sure, I will give him that. Even Jauron remembered how meticiously prepared he was when he had him as a coach.

However don't take anything away from the players. They are making plays. Jarvis-Green is a great looking rookie. Welker and Cassel are getting their timing down. Moss and Cassel still need a bit of work, however the wind was swirling yesterday and that may have been a factor.

Look, BB is a great coach. I am glad we have him. He has his teams prepared. All I am saying is that the players deserve credit for executing.

6-3.

Pretty sweet....it will be interesting to see if the short week affects either New England or the Jets.

I agree, and I suppose we have to give Belichick (and Pioli) credit for assessing and bring in the talent. Talent and great coaching is hard to beat. They are a Gaffney drop away from being 7 and 2. :) I think non-Patriot fans tend to forget that they were pummelled with injuries in the past, and won it all. Of course, one of those injuries was never Brady before. :)

Didn't we have a thread last week saying how horrible of a coach he was?

Didn't we have a thread last week saying how horrible of a coach he was?

Dunno if that's a reference my "Worst Coached Game?" thread or not. If so, I did mention that I feel he is by far and away the best coach today, and also one of the best in history. I hope he coaches here until he's 100 years old, and he's done a masterful job this year. It's reminiscent of 2003, in a way...

Even the gameplan last week was extraordinary... so I suppose a better title for the thread would have been "worst managed game?" or something. Burning all three timeouts in 17 minutes and panicky two point conversions are something we'd see from Herm Edwards, or John Fox. That's why I was a trifle surprised after that game.

This team could lose every single game from here on in, and I would forever be appreciative of, and awe-inspired by BB's tenure here. We've watched greatness at both the HC and the QB position for nearly a full decade now, and a little vent after a stunningly badly managed game (for BB standards, anyway), doesn't change that in the least...

Didn't we have a thread last week saying how horrible of a coach he was?

Not exactly. Somebody mentioned a less-than-Belichick in game management performance last week, although most raved about the game plan itself. I don't think anybody said he was a horrible coach.

In any event, let's face it, with A. Thomas added to the list of injured players, this is getting harder and harder. To me, these kinds of challenges is making this a rather fun season.

It t'was.

.....

Care to reference where I said how "horrible a coach he was?" Or would you like to continue to rather conveniently omit the effusive praise given to BB, and interpret the questioning of one game as a sign that I think he is looking up on the coaching ladder at Mangina, Herm, Marvin Lewis, Wade Phillips, etc...

Dude, he's the best. PERIOD. No argument, no disagreement... You know what? The fact that I couldn't think of a worse-run game in BB's era, in and of itself, speaks volumes to what I think of him as a coach. Chiefs fans, Jets fans, Lions fans, Bengals fans see that crap every week. BB's game management on his worst day is better than at least half the league on their best days...

If you're going to reference a post or thread, please try to do so in the right context, at least...
