Adalius Thomas update

Seau has played a lot of OLB in his career, and he is familiar with the system here in NE.
I'm still more interested in Colvin if he's healthy - he was healthy enough to at least get signed by Houston although the fact that he's sitting at home must tell me something I guess.

How about Hobson? Bruschi could slide out to play OLB, Guyton has pretty much shown that he can handle playing inside on a full time basis. Just thinking out loud.

I was at the game and remember he made a diving attempt at a trip tackle and was slow getting up (it ended being backside of play). It looked like he kept grabbing his left hand, as if he was testing his strength of the right before the next snap and i believe that was the last time he was out (might have it backwards, who knows). Not sure though. Looked like a fractured arm/wrist/hand when it happened, remembered thinking he could be back soon in a cast...maybe thats wishful thinking.

I was at the game siting right behind the D bench. AD walked off with assistance holding his forearm with the wrist limp. Did NOT look like a minor injury. Anything from shoulder to forearm to wrist.

I would think Guyton would move to the outside or even Mayo?

Who is next on the depth chart after Vrabel and Woods if AD is out for a period of time?

You've got to be kidding me. The division on the line the next 2 weeks and we suffer yet another huge injury.

Yes... And they did it just to tick you off. The Gods are against you. Its all about YOU. [/sarcasm]

I believe Thomas also played earlier in the year with a cast. Perhaps this is just that injury all over again? He was able to still play.

It's just one of those years, everything is hitting and we'll just have to make it through the best we can. Definitely a shame that Crable is gone too.

If it's a fracture, I think he'll be back. He's a tough SOB and we need him on this team. If not, we better have a frikkin plan for the long haul.

Was that on the second series?? OR layer in the quarter??

And what exactly did I do to tick you off, just curious? Saying the special teams were subpar today? God I am so sorry, Bruinz please forgive me.

This is potentially devastating

Too bad we put Crable in IR too soon. Maybe call up Vince Redd and let him be our backup. Maybe he can provide a spark much like Guyton and The Law Firm has.

DOWNSIDE: Linebacker Adalius Thomas injured his left arm during the second quarter and did not return. He was spotted wearing a sling on the arm following the game. Not a good sign.

Redd is one of the UDFA that I was really glad that we signed. I am sure that IF he is ready, BB will have him on the roster.

Yeah, I liked his potential as well. He looked lost at times in preseason, but from a physical standpoint, the guy has the tools. BB has also mentioned that Guyton can possibly play OLB so maybe we'll go that way.

Man, I don't know how this team functions. It seems like there's a big injury every other week. Yet they still get their act together and play hard, and usually have won. Greater then the sum of it's parts may be an apt description. Here's hoping Thomas can come back soon, and that we can keep chugging in his absence.
