NFL record ... first recievier with 6+ catches in first 8 games... all with MC as QB

respect is due... man we are lucky to have him ...

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

Brady had a couple completions to him.

I wouldn't say we are lucky to have him. They recognized the type of player he was and went out and acquired him.

I disagree .. lot of people thought he was who he was because of TB ... this season shows otherwise

How many QB's round the league wish they had WW

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

he's perfect for this system. I love having him and we'd be in deep doo doo without him. Great game today.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

he's a great player, good acquisition by the Pats!

9 games technically, but agreed. BTW, remember when that guy who came through smearing the team saying he worked for the patriots had his big inside scoop, which was that Welker was hurt badly and might miss the entire season? Looks like he's been soundly discredited.

You see why I think he should be Mr. 7-11--his ability to just get open is nothing short of remarkable.

Give some respect to the man from Tech. As I've said before, he was more valuable to us than Moss last year, despite Moss's TD record.

What? I said we are not lucky to have him because it wasn't like they didn't know what they were getting when they acquired him.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

Great find. Hope he is in a Pats uni for a long time.

Last year's draft landed us Merriweather, Welker and Moss.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

+1 on respect for Welker, when the Pats traded a 2nd for the guy I thought they were crazy, boy was I wrong again.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

They asked Matt in his PC about what makes Welker a go to guy. He said he's a stud, he always give 150% on every play, he's never complacent about what he's done and he's always working to get better...

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

Welker's a stud. And much props to BB/Pioli for recognizing his potential and how he could fit in our system. The best part about him is his competitiveness. The dude's a gamer.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

As I said before.. the only reason that I watched Miami games pre-Sunday Ticket was Wes Welker.. I was beyond excited that BB/Pioli got him.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

Yea Ive had a man-crush on Welker since like Week 4 of last year. Mad respect.

Re: Wes Welker ... respect

ever since his 2nd game as a Patriot he has been money - that open field juke against San Diego - absolutely amazing move.

Welker is a guy that I wanted the Pats to bring in not even half-way through the 2006 season and I can remember getting crapped upon by people in here saying that he wasn't worth a 2nd round pick, never mind potentially a first.

You and me both...

Remember the several posters here who seriously, I'm NOT kidding, lamented when we added a 7th round pick to the Welker deal!
